I don't need THX or whatever from my players as I have better gear for specific tasks. The new 4K player isn't made like an Oppo, ( Emotiva tank grade ) but it does its job admirably. I'm not a believer in THX certifications. I've had a few Pioneer AVRs, some with and some without THX, and I'm skeptical of the whole thing. Marantz and Anthem make some of the most popular AVRs and processors but don't THX certify. Sort of wonder if it's 90% valid and 10% hype. Ill just stab at this without any technicals, most gear that hits a certain level db without XX % distortion will qualify for THX, I bet most Emotiva gear would qualify! I don't need to PAY a fee to get the little lable on my gear!! My

So for someone like me who's looking for my next player to be my last player, I have to throw a few questions out there off the cuff, not thinking much here today, and only quickly looking at the specs.
- 7.1 analog outputs. Good, but what about 11.1 for Atmos & DTS:X? It doesn't appear to have that decoding built in. If you run HDMI instead, does it pass the height channels that way?
- Plays DSD. Does this mean it plays SACD's? What about DVD-Audio? It doesn’t mention those as disc formats.
- It doesn’t list any inputs, so it appears using it’s DAC like the Oppo 105 isn’t there.
I'd like to see more pictures including the back and with the front door down.

Oppo may want to get something tangible announced soon.
