So i just found out im getting a new Klipsch (7.2 RP-280 Reference Premiere Surround Sound Speaker Package with 2 R-115SW) system for my bday. I currently have an older setup of Sc-37 BDP-80fd Xpa-2 Xpa-3 Full polk LSi setup (LSi-25,LSi7, LSiFX, LSiC) Polk 505 subs Ps4/DTv
Was gonna put this setup in another room. Going to get a new AVR and maybe a new emo amp.
Do you guys have any suggestions. HT/video games is all this setup will see. Non 4k tv. Just get a nice AVR or go average avr and get an emo amp. Dont see alot of info on the speakers with setups.
Thanks

Well, I do have an AVR 354 from HK that I'm trying to offload - I wouldn't be human if I didn't at least offer it up. lol I had it setup powering a 5.1 setup with Heresy's, an RC-3 II, and a pair of RS-3 II's and it did the job wonderfully. Don't recall if it is a .2 system though.
I personally like Marantz units otherwise, they seem to do a solid job and are well built. The only AVR I have now that's actively doing any HT duty that isn't an Emo is an NR-1501.
Should ask, what is your budget? What is the size of the room?

You might look into accessories4less.com and get a refurbished Preamp-Processor. I would keep the Emotiva amps that you now have. Get some Klipsch surround speakers (RS-52ii or RS-62iis) or whatever the new ones are now. I have a pair of RS-52iis and they sound great. I had RS-42iis but the sound seemed weak compared to the rest of the system.

I had a Marantz before but was not into it. I have owned 4 elite AVR and really like this. I know they did well with polk speakers. Dont know about the Klipsch. I tend to only buy new gear but thanks The kit comes with 2 rp-280f Rp-450c 2 rp-250s 2 rp-160m 2 r-115sw Well, I do have an AVR 354 from HK that I'm trying to offload - I wouldn't be human if I didn't at least offer it up. lol I had it setup powering a 5.1 setup with Heresy's, an RC-3 II, and a pair of RS-3 II's and it did the job wonderfully. Im not looking to do separates atm. Avr or avr/amp is it for now. You might look into accessories4less.com and get a refurbished Preamp-Processor. I would keep the Emotiva amps that you now have. The SC series should serve you well, Pioneer Elites will play nice with Klipsch speakers, and I've known many that do as such. I would also do as macro said and look at products on A4L. If you're that adverse to Marantz, maybe take a gander at the Yamaha Aventage series AVR's, or the nicer Onkyo's. If your budget allows you might also entertain the idea of separates and go with Gen 3 Emotiva gear.

Good on the SC gear. The sc-99 is looking good to me ATM. My budget for avr/amp is about 4k. I dont want do seprates. Its just a HT/gaming setup. Main thing i wanna know is what gear sounds good with the speaker setup. The SC series should serve you well, Pioneer Elites will play nice with Klipsch speakers, and I've known many that do as such. The SC-99 will do great things for you.
My personal experience though is limited to the 30 and 63 series RX-V line of Yamaha, the 500 series, and the R-N500. I've also used/heard them paired with an entry level Denon, that Marantz I was telling you about, the HK I'm selling and the Fusion 8100 - which I am currently using on two setups. Of the ones mentioned, the Fusion definitely takes the cake.
All that being said, I have heard demo room configurations two generations ago with the RF-82 II and an older Pioneer Elite that sounded just wonderful. Those speakers are extremely sensitive, and the RP line itself is inherently a step above the original RF II series. You really shouldn't go wrong.

Keep your options open in the SC line and don't be hesitant on open box items. Most places that carry them open box will either have an additional warranty coverage on them or a decent return policy on defects.
Just remember used or refurbed is not the end of the world, and in many cases can actually get you a better value.
