Interesting article, thanks for posting. I did note the move to direct marketing and selling which is diametrically opposed to what Emotiva are doing.
Cheers Gary

"Having big, hulking mono-block amps on the floor with cables strewn everywhere isn't as cool."
I wonder if class D amplification will improve leaps and bounds over the next decade out of necessity/survival? In other words, will the majority of HiFi companies simply not have heavy amps in their product lines?
I personally despise the bulk and weight of class A/B still prefer the sonics in most cases.
Let's not forget the ridiculous weights of CRT monitors and TVs. Simply ridiculous now.

Jerry Del Colliano, the author of this article, is one of my least favorite audio writers. Notice that he found about 10 ways to tell you how rich he and his cronies are in just this one piece. My experience tells me that people who go out of their way to tell you how rich they are usually aren't.
Anyway, that's one of my pet peeves. Sorry for going off topic.
That being said, there is some truth in what he says about Gen X and Millennials.

"Having big, hulking mono-block amps on the floor with cables strewn everywhere isn't as cool." But but... it is cool!
