Hello to all.
I am getting more frustrated when I play some of my favorite albums and CDs. It seems many do not have a well defined bottom end. Sometimes, its like nothing is there. This can make the upper frequencies sound predominant and on the bright side. The new T1s have made this even more noticeable. Put on a good recording and the sound is incredible with all frequencies.
I really check out production/sound quality the best I can before spending money on new recordings.
Is it just me, or is anyone else experiencing this? Howie

Is the sub crossed appropriately? I used to run a USP-1 with the UPA-1 monos and bass was not lacking what so ever! Just ask my neighbor....☺

Make sure those new speakers are in phase with each other. That will kill bass response in a hurry. And yes as previous poster. Subwoofer integration would be next to look at

I would say just the opposite. That modern popular recordings exaggerate the bass

Yes, got the sub crossed at 60hz, and my speakers are def in phase. I listen to pretty much all kinds of music. Hear are a few that sounded weak in bass:
1. Newly remastered Led Zeppelin 2. Slayer albums 3. Tori Amos 4. Beatles
Hear are a few that sound great"
1. Almost any Brain Eno 2. Jack White 3.Van der Graaf Generator 4.Joan Armatrading

I would say just the opposite. That modern popular recordings exaggerate the bass 100% agree. The majority of listeners are using stock earbuds so I guess it makes sense for producers and mix engineers to emphasize bass. It drives me nuts and I find myself attenuating my subwoofer when listening to different eras of CD rips and streams.

Tori amos weak in bass? Hmmm..... I suspect placement issues and sub optimal crossover phasing. Here's the thing - if the sound is weak in the bass to your perception then it probably is - as long as your expectations aren't ridiculous.

I been thinking for as long as I can remember that too many people think that there is huge bass in all music and there system should have bass that shakes there house. I do not get it.
