I'm surprised that the President of the Monoblock Society hasn't jumped on this already, novisnick where are you? the differential mono block module for the Gen 3 amps will be released soon Lonnie Should we start guessing the spec (for a bit of fun of course); Dual Trigger in and single trigger out Dimmable LED's would be nice Switchable inputs between balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA Quad differential of course XPR-1 architecture including a switch mode power supply Gain at 29 db THD+N: <0.001% (inaudible is inaudible right?) SNR >120db Damping Factor >1000 Class AB Watts, based on the current Gen 3 power supplies, ~600 watts into 8 ohms and ~1000 watts into 4 ohms Class A Watts, will it have high bias capability for Class A? Switchable? Price $US1,599 (which means around $A2,999 for us in OZ) BTW, "soon" is that why Final Link (the Emotiva Distributors in Australia) don't have any XPA-1 Gen2's in stock? Cheers Gary

I heard that the president of the monoblock society was running a tube stereo amp?
Let the impeachment process begin.

My advice is to bring back 32 db of gain.
I prefer the Gen 1 to Gen 2 in all trim levels. XPA-1, XPA-2 and XPA-5 are all preferred with the Gen 1 32 db of gain!!!

Okay the single amp per speaker is coming back in Gen 3. Now the Society of Monoblocks has something to cheer about once again. Now Novisnick, I don't think you should be impeached. But do me a favor, I need to test my levels so testing 1...2...3. Please speak clearly into the microphone with your Preamble to Gen 3 Monoblock Citizens!

Glad I could make everyone's day. BTW, when I say soon, I mean before the end of the year, so please don't get mad at me when its not out next week. Lonnie

My advice is to bring back 32 db of gain. I prefer the Gen 1 to Gen 2 in all trim levels. XPA-1, XPA-2 and XPA-5 are all preferred with the Gen 1 32 db of gain!!! THX standard is 29dB gain. I would verify that your processor is outputting the appropriate voltage required. If the processor outputs don't supply the required voltage then you will experience issues such as low volumes, distortion and you could damage your amp.

I wonder if they can get the chassis size down from 2RU. If they can get all that performance into something 1.5RU or even 1RU, that would really make a compelling mono bloc that is easy to stack, it would make for a very compelling product. Size matters!

These Monoblock modules are for the Generation 3 XPA chassis. You will be able to put three of them in the same chassis.

These Monoblock modules are for the Generation 3 XPA chassis. You will be able to put three of them in the same chassis. I guess that would depend on the size of the power supply. The current Gen 3 SMPS would supply enough for 1 x 600/1000 watts, but not for 3 x 600/1000 watts. Since novisnick is asleep at the wheel I would respectfully suggest that if a power amp is multi channel then it's not a monoblock. Cheers Gary
