... and... damn, it is impressive... I was even reluctant to order it because I had noticed virtually nothing about it in the forum or out on google, maybe I didn't search so well.... but I just A-B-ed the Gen 3 against the SA-250, and it was night and day.... your mileage may vary but... I was comparing the handling of the Grateful Dead, In The Dark CD and the Allman Brothers Fillmore East CD.... admittedly I was having a glass of a notable California Merlot blend so you could take that into account too, but I have never heard Jerry or Duane sound so in the room... wow!! The holiday sale tipped me over the edge on upgrading.... if you're at the edge, you might want to tip, as well :-)
This is kind of how I imagined the XPR series might sound, but I could never reach that far.
Well done, you guys in Franklin!
So if anybody wants a couple of XPA-2 Gen 2's and a couple of SA-250's for cheap, well... here I am :-)

Please elaborate on, "night and day" difference in sound. Thanks

Please elaborate on, "night and day" difference in sound. Thanks I say that because I was delighted that I immediately could tell that I did a good thing by getting the Gen 3.... comparing the CD's, I was getting a more "live" experience with the Gen 3... I would love to do it in a blind test, but that would take time and effort and I am short on both these days. Did some folks already report on their Gen 3 experience? Is the Gen 3 using some of the technology of the XPR series?

Hey flatpicker, Very happy to hear your positive feelings about the new G3 XPA!
We have had tremendous success with this new amplifier series, and the first review is coming out next week. And it's very positive too!
Happy listening! Big Dan
