I found a good deal on a black, Yamaha CD-S2100 and have it presently paired to a XPA-2 Gen 2, XSP-1, and a new set of Wharfedale Jade 7's.... Seems similar to the ERC-3 but trying to find different disks to test. It sure is heavy and nice looking. Not sure of the price though, Anyone have one or had experiences with one ?? hometheaterreview.com/yamaha-cd-s2100-cdsacd-player-reviewed/

I did a major trade in last year in November out of my local city, but still in state and I acquired a brand new Yamaha CD-S2100. I tested it by playing it for eight hours a day for two weeks to break it in. It is a beautiful looking player with the wood trim (brown). It has a built in Dac and XLR inputs. The remote control is long and thin, but effective. This player is heavy. The sound quality is better than the Emotiva ERC-1, which I had. I always found the ERC-1 sound as having too much treble, which caused me fatigue, so I had stopped listening to it. The Yamaha isn't like that it is very enjoyable to listen to and did I mention it is heavy and it is a SACD Player.
I was very blessed in my trade and the player cost me $100.00. I have compared this player with a Audio Research CD-8, which was no contest, the CD-8 was miles ahead in terms of better everything, but it didn't play SACD. I also have a Audio Research CD2, with which this player stacks up very well against, but the Audio Research is slightly better, but not enough so that I would sell the Yamaha. I believe the price when it first came out was $2999.95 and there were deals that could be found on line. I will tell you this Yamaha is very funny about online purchases if the dealer isn't authorized and so is Pioneer, so please be sure if it is a online sale or local to check this out. The built in Dac is very good. I have had numerous Yamaha components and have enjoyed them, but they don't bend on that warranty if the dealer isn't a authorized merchant and if in question, they will require a receipt if you didn't register it, which I did.

Great rely. I have loved it so far, but ONLY listening to two channel audio with my new Jade 7 speakers. Have not tried the DAC, but YES it is heavy. I paid about two thirds of the retail price. STILL LOST of money.
Loving it so far,
Thanks a lot for the reply.
Cheers!
