I have a problem connecting my laptop (Windows 7) to XMC-1 USB DAC. I run the unzipped "Setup" (both the general one and the specific one to Win 7) on my laptop first. Everything is fine until I get to where it says "Please Connect the CMedia USB2.0 Audio Device".
I connect the XMC-1 to my laptop and then I get the message that "CMedia USB2.0 Audio Device doesn't exist".
My Processor firmware is 4.0. Am I supposed to download another update for this to work?
What am I doing wrong?
Many thanks.
PROBLEM SOLVED.

How was your problem solved? I had the same issue. But when I connected my laptop USB to the USB on the back of the Xmc my music played fine through the Xmc. Is there a benefit to having the software installed ? mine seems to work ok even though I received the same message as you. Thanks
