I'll never forget Dan posting that it's dropping March 218 LMFAO. I'm still waiting for it, but definitely getting antsy at this point... My room is just about ready and no sign of the RMC. Grrrr. Apparently they recently told dealers by the end of July. Lets see if that happens. Spoiler Alert, it won’t. But on the last podcast Lonnie did say they were building chassis for them so they can’t be too far away.

Apparently they recently told dealers by the end of July. Lets see if that happens. That’s just hearsay and posting it serves no purpose other than to get people riled up if it doesn’t come to be. Who are “dealers”? How were they told? We’re all dealers told? It sounds like just more unreliable “dealer” information. As Doc noted, the HDMI Board isn’t ready and no new official firmware has been released, until that happens (or Dan makes a direct statement), we shouldn’t expect the RMC-1 to be released.

Apparently they recently told dealers by the end of July. Lets see if that happens. Spoiler Alert, it won’t. But on the last podcast Lonnie did say they were building chassis for them so they can’t be too far away. My view is that being a "processor" the physical assembly, once the design engineering is done, is relatively straight forward. It's the programming, the firmware, that is where the problems occur. A big, huge, overpowering, relentless, seemingly never ending process of testing and correcting the code. Emotiva production could easily assemble hundreds of units, that are ostensibly ready to ship, just waiting on the software to be loaded. Fortunately, or perhaps deliberately by design, what I see as the trickiest board, 4K HDMI HDCP, is out for retail beta testing with results poring in every day. For reasons spelt out in previous posts I don't see the Atmos/DTSX software development as being anywhere near as onerous. Past that, we are into analogue territory which is one of Emotiva's long term strengths. Timing wise I have no idea, other than when the 4K HDMI HDCP software is bedded down, then I would expect some progress on the RMC-1. Cheers Gary

What good is a response if they truly don't how long it will take? It'll be done when it's done. If you can't wait then but something else. It's pretty simple. It sucks waiting indefinitely but you really don't have a choice if the RMC-1 is what you want.

It sucks waiting indefinitely but you really don't have a choice if the RMC-1 is what you want. I do think it would be nice to get an update on what is left to complete the RMC-1. I would much rather know what miles stones Emotiva has left, IE "we want the HDMI board to be solid and we have just gotten production chips in." If they just give us an idea of what actually left to get done we can get a feel on delivery date. Just saying that they are real close is pretty vague. I really want the RMC-1 as my current setup is Atmos, but there are some other features that I can't do now that I want. If Emotiva is going to be 6 months out that is fine. I may just buy a 8802A fir $1600 and keep it till the RMC arrives. I would not be opposed to doing that since I could sell the 8802a at that point and only lose a few hundred dollars. But if the RMC is really coming out say next month then of course there is no point in buying the 8802a. "

We we told we would get updates , do you just take your car to the shop and leave it there and if its not done just go buy a different car. This is YEARS of being strung alone it hardly qualifies as CANT WAIT

If you wanted a concept car, that is an apt comparison. In that case, you wait until the car is released for sale, or you buy another car.

They are a small company that is ambitiously trying to expand and ended up spreading itself too thin. Yes updates would be nice but come on. Maybe, just maybe, they don't want their competition to know their inside story? Does D&M issue updates on their developmental progress or struggles? I'd rather have no updates than more that they end up not meeting. More importantly I'd prefer they put their efforts into finishing the pre/pro than postimg online.

To be fair D&M does not issue a press release stating an on sale date for a new pre-pro then miss the date by several months (and erase all records of the press release). I am not faulting Emo, the RMC is a tough build, but the D&M guys are better (due to their shear size) of churning out pre-pros. Not saying that they make a better end product, but they are just more efficient at updating their product line.

I called emo last week and they said they would hope by the end of the summer, but they make no promises. I call once a month, it is less stressful then checking for updates here. Unless they have really good news, i don't think they will be giving constant updates here even though they said something to that effect.

I’d be more interested in the DSU update and Emotiva’s ability to upmix. Information on its final feature set seems more reasonable than demanding to give us information it can’t guarantee.

They're not stringing us along. I'm not going to jump in here and discuss the other things you said, other than to say they hold some merit. But this line you wrote above is a highly debatable personal opinion. So much so that it will lock this thread faster than a speeding bullet. So I'm not going to debate it. Just know your opinion gets a lot of head shaking from the Bonzomites here.

You know those kind of people who say they are buying this or that are going to some destination but they never do it thats what this is like. I am a doer, i do something then i talk about it. Trying to get the latest parts is a fruitless effort and the end product will never reach fruition. Dan is the one who came here and said he would be making more frequent updates yet as usual its just gum flapping.

This thread needs to go in a direction that has a civil and respectful tone, or Bonzo's prediction above will come true.

My prediction Summer 2020 or Dec 2019 If it's going to be that late, then better start working on HDMI 2.1 !! I think once their issues are resolved with the current video board, the rest will go quickly. They have a working prototype and the remaining components have strict operational parameters. My guess is by the end of the year and maybe early next year. Regardless of all the beta testing, it will be the actual users who will catch all the scenarios in the real world and Emotiva to provide firmware fixes for.

And for the guy that said i have anger problems, you shoulda seen me when i was drinkin , i am really calm now.
