BUT BUT BUT its been to CES 2 times and the last word was waiting for chip from panasonymitsunishhibishi, and that should be available in june, all this is just excuses. If its a problem , do a crowdfund and hire some more talent, time is money. And for the guy that said i have anger problems, you shoulda seen me when i was drinkin , i am really calm now. It's on the way. Coming out right after the launch of the new Emersa line!....but first, how about a 2kw power amp!

I went ahead and ordered a Marantz 8802a that should serve me well for the time being. I was holding off waiting for the RMC, but I was re-doing some media setups and needed the new processor at this time. I very well may get the RMC once it arrives if it is solid and the reviews are good, but for now the 8802a will do everything I need. Of course if I am perfectly happy with the 8802a Emotiva May have lost me on the RMC, but time will tell on that.

If they take to long they'll lose a lot of the market.

Go get something that you can have now rather waiting for something that doesn't exist yet and hoping it comes out for you. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on it after you play with it for a while. Enjoy your new purchase!

Yeah to get a new unit (open box but with full warranty) for $1700 is a good price and it’s not such a huge investment to where if I just decide I don’t like it I can still sell it and buy the RMC once it comes out. I know Emotiva is trying as hard as they can to get the RMC to market, and I think it will be a fantastic processor once it’s released, but Emotiva runs a risk the longer and longer it takes to release the unit.

The XMC is just so damn good i cant take that leap of faith and buy an Anthem it just doesnt look as good imho. FWIW i think the 8802a is temporary

It is just taking a for sure sale to Emotiva into a maybe sale depending on how I like the AV8802

I wonder if they will hold to the promised $5,000 pricing.

I wonder if they will hold to the promised $5,000 pricing. I’m pretty sure it was just ‘announced’ and not ‘promised’, but I expect it to come out at $5K.

That $5000 price was originally stated like 2-1/2 years ago I think. And remember how the pricing on the XMC went. Also, I don't think anyone considers the $5000 to include any upgrade modules, so those will be extra. Just how much extra is a big question.

One would hope that Emotiva has learned a few lessons from the XMC-1 release / delay/ release "experience". I think that if they go higher than $5K, then most likely no one will buy the product as they are not established in the high priced market like other boutique brands. If anything, they might even start with a promotional price to make up for all the delays.

Seems like it would be mutually beneficial getting it to a price point more people can afford considering if you buy an RMC-1 then there is a decent chance you’ll be spending even more on amps and speakers for other Emotiva gear. It would be awesome if enough expansion modules were out to take advantage of package deals for those of us that have supported them long enough to have the 25 or 40% off coupons.

Theres the rub ; that $5k has depreciated over the years and theres many ugfl and 40% cards extent to take another slice from profit margins . Package deals with power amps is a good idea . I can see the new fully balanced PA-1 amps perfect for some atmos ceiling channels Its been marketed as a trinnov;datasat type at a fraction of the price ; maybe with a few nice reviews that will translate with people..

... I can see the new fully balanced PA-1 amps perfect for some atmos ceiling channels ... I agree, I’ve considered a pair mounted remotely near the Atmos speakers, and then configured for auto on.

Good idea ; my cabinet is full now with a 7ch and 2x2ch power amps for atmos ' more space is always welcome and as an added bonus the long balanced cables negate any unbalanced noise And theyre conveniently signal sensing on

It would be a tough sell over $5K. The Marantz AV8805 and Lexicon MC10 which are main competitors already have street prices well below $5000. I think they may set it at a list price higher than $5000 with an instant discount to lower the price to $5000 and base the coupons on the higher price. They will have a tough time making money if they have to sell a whole bunch of these at $3000.

We see a lot here because of the forum, but what percentage of the actual buyers will be using cards? I would venture to guess that the overall number of cards left in the wild would not be enough to make a huge impact to the overall profitability of the RMC-1. I think it was Keith who did post here a few months back that the RMC-1 will be released at $5000 and that will be the retail price, so 40% off cards would get it down to $3000. Now how long they stay at $5k is a whole different question.

Not just the 40% off cards ; consider the 25% off as well "If you have purchased a qualifying product... that is if you are the ORIGINAL owner of ANY Emotiva processor or receiver we've ever built, you are in the UFL family. This goes all the way back to the DMC-1." It may be logical to segregate this aspect to other coming pre pros like the XMC2 as well as no one knows for sure how many are out there

I would imagine they will see vastly greater quantities at 25% off than 40% off. I think most of the 40% cards are used up. But there are many of us with the 25% off UFL discount, and we can buy up to TWO of each processor/receiver with that discount. EDIT: But you also have to realize that they're not stupid, and they knew about the various discount programs they have operated in the past when they said $5K. They don't build in near the profit margin that other manufacturers do, but they're not dumb enough to price them at a loss.
