Wasn't taken down on purpose and not sure where it went. Back up now! I still think it's all part of your Master Plan, Nick; you really meant to take it down just as you were all leaving for Axpona

With my luck, however, it would probably be these guys

Better off buying a new XMC for $2999 - 40% (if you have card discount, I still have two LOL) for $1799.40 and selling your existing XMC. If you're going to pay $899 it makes a new XMC $900 and a you get a new warranty...and don't have to worry about shipping it back for ATMOS or the HDMI board swap. I am sure there will be some who do choose a new XMC-1 and use their 40% off card and sell their existing XMC-1. Based on what I've seen, we've not seen a firm price on the new XMC-1. We've only seen pricing on the upgrades to the old XMC-1. So, your math may be off but your point is well taken. Also, I suspect there are very few 40% off cards remaining (but there are a lot of folks like me still in the 25% off UFL program!). Mark Looks like my math still holds based on the new pricing on the XMC posted...I wonder why they don't offer the $2999 with Atmos now and you can send your XMC back when it's ready? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ emotiva.com/collections/x-series/products/xmc-1This upgrade, which requires the latest (V3) HDMI board, is optional with a new XMC-1 for a total price of $2999 and available to current XMC-1 owners who have upgraded to HDMI V3 for $599 (including shipping). Factory installation is required (and included at no cost).

Not a thing on a Gen 3 on emotiva.com so until it appears there, it doesn't exist...lol
The new display looks nice, but seeing as Emo has no official information on their site I wouldn't hold my breath, especially as Atmos is still not available, nor are there any formal specs available.
Leave it to Emo to have multiple versions of a product and not differentiate formally with versioning.

Why has Emo apparently gone "dark" regarding info about the Atmos/DTS-X update? Yes, I know everyone is fussing right now about the V-3 board release, but a word or two about the ETA of the Atmos/DTS-X board would be encouraging for those of us who want to wait for this second board so that we can send our XMC-1s to Franklin just once for the two updates, and not twice.
I just thought I should mention that...

They already said it won't be coming until the RMC-1 is complete, which it's not.

I would not be surprised at all to hear that plans for an ATMOS/DTSX board for the XMC1 are being dropped all together.

HAD TO ORDER TICKETS 6 MONTHS IN ADVANCE. The list is endless. Bill

I would not be surprised at all to hear that plans for an ATMOS/DTSX board for the XMC1 are being dropped all together. Bill Personally, I'd be very disappointed to see that happen, and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one. On the other hand, I'd say you shouldn't be giving Emotiva ideas. Besides someone might think this is what you're secretly wishing for, although I personally wonder why anyone would nurse such a secret wish, when Emotiva has explicitly promised the opposite. I like my XMC-1 a lot, not only for its exquisite SQ, but also for the modularity that it was supposed to come with. I have been patiently waiting for my Atmos/DTS-X update, to go with the V-3 board. Let us not jinx that chance. Please

On Feb 2 Dan posted that the HDMI board would be rolled out in March. With March gone, April gone and May all but gone it looks like June at the earliest before we will see the long awaited HDMI board. With that in mind and comparing the relative complexity of the Atmos/DTS-X board, it looks to me like quite a long wait. Even for the most patient amongst us there comes a time where moving on (to another supplier) is the best course. As a result this weekend I'm off to audition the alternatives, first stop (a 4 hour round trip mind) is a retailer that has both an XMC-1 and a Yamaha CX5100 that I can back to back. No music, I have an XSP-1 for that, so I'll just grab a handful of movies to try.
Cheers Gary

If music sounds better on one, it will do movies better also. Then it will be up for you to decide if it matters.

Good idea Bonz, I'll take a couple of SACD's, that's the only music I listen to via processor. The guy that owns the hifi shop. Steve, used to play guitar in a band, so the Dire Straits SACD should make him smile. Cheers Gary

I did audition those two last week and the only thing holding me going that route is $$
