Benefits to Upgrading MPS-1?

My current setup: Emotiva XMC-1 -> Emotiva MPS-1 -> Ascend Sierra Raal Towers (and center)

Been feeling a little underwhelmed ever since I upgraded from Ascend Sierra 1 bookshelfs to the Ascend Towers with the RAAL tweeters. The Ascends aren't hard to drive speakers, but it feels like I'm missing some of the authority that I used to get when it was just the bookshelfs. Question is would upgrading from the MPS-1 to something like an XPA-1 Gen2 (20% off!) or XPA DR3 make a noticeable difference? Always looking for value, like many of you all are, so give me some feedback on the value of spending some of my hard earned cash!

I've also been contemplating new amplifiers to go with the RMC-1 when is comes out. One possibility that I'm thinking about is the ATI AT527NC. It's gotten a fairly good review on Sound & Vision as well as Stereophile.

That's an interesting option. I like the convenience of a single chassis, but power rating is a step up from the MPS-1. Curious if there's a sonic difference with a Class D design.

If the speakers aren't producing the impact that you want then I would be looking at different speakers and not the amp in this instance knowing that the current amp has sufficient power for the speakers.
