It doesn't direct download Just head to the Dropbox page and download it from there. Nick, am I correct in reading the changelog that this addresses the video problems (HDMI) only and the audio workarounds are to be released within a week or so as discussed by Lonnie? The changelog mentions nothing about audio, just video. Can you clarify? Thanks.

Guys I will say that the Storm processor had dropouts at Axpona in the JTR demo room. In fact more than I ever heard with the RMC1. Well except for my first one. Which had the Dolby Ding problem.
Yes we need a perfectly functional product. But I just think it is the way it came off. I am definitely not a Emotiva fanboy. Don't own any of the amps. Never did. And probably never will. I wanted a processor with Dirac, all balanced, and good sounding for not a lot of money. I think we will have all that. I just think it came off as you were scolding the op. And it is obvious to me that people do seem to hold Emo to a higher standard. Even higher than Storm obviously because I never heard one complaint about the dropouts in their demo at Axpona.

Interesting, Damon is testing that now. Thank you. I did test out dsd files on a usb stick, and it still has a thump but not as loud as before when going into or out of dsd files and not loud enough to do any harm so i can live with it. On dsd discs, before i would get loud thumps if i skipped to the next track and that is completly gone so awesome job!! I just did a similar test with my Oppo UDP-203 playing files over an SMB share. The audible thump when transitioning from PCM files to DSD is definitely still there and it is very loud and disconcerting at reference listening levels. It’s at the edges when the bitstream transitions to/from DSD/PCM. I observed a loud thump when transitioning from PCM to DSD and a lower volume pop when transitioning from DSD to PCM. Pausing and stopping within a given bitstream cause no issues. I can work around this stuff for now, but if it’s still an issue once the 30-day return clock starts kicking I’d be inclined to return it..

So far the unit seems much more well behaved with 1.3, however I’m reserving judgement because sometimes all the unplugging and cold reboots prescribes by the upgrade process can leave the unit more stable for a time. One other immediate observation is that controlling the unit via the remote instead of the front encoder knob still causes an prefer of magnitude increase in input lag and sluggishness.

Downloaded and installed 1.3 with no difficulties. Just starting to test it out. There have been some changes in the height speaker options. Can someone please tell me the difference between Front Height, Dolby enabled Front, and Top Front? My front height speakers are in the ceiling, not sure which one to pick.

Dolby Enabled speakers are when you have toppers placed on your front speakers that fire towards the ceiling and then back down. Height speakers are for speakers mounted high on the front or rear wallTop Front are for speakers mounted to the ceiling. After the FW update, I advise everyone to make sure all their speakers are still setup correctly even after loading user settings. I lost my Middle Top speakers for my 9.1. 6 setup. Not a big deal, but I'm guessing I wouldn't have noticed for several movies if I would not have checked.

So, true. I don't get it. If I paid a good amount of money ($$$$.$$), I'm not having it....... These guys are GRATEFUL, THANKFUL, AND even HAPPY for "Almost working"............ What the HELL is wrong with you guys?..... What's wrong with us? I'm sitting here wondering what kind of human trolls a thread for a product they don't own, from a company they don't like, and takes stabs at those of us who do? The "Fanboys" would appreciate it if you would take your slander to the forum for A list processors. I'd be happy to buy a WORKING RMC-1. Note the emphasis on working. Has nothing to do with trolling.

The "Fanboys" would appreciate it if you would take your slander to the forum for A list processors. You must be late to the Party.......I'm sure your post is NOT directed to me, since I've owned the RMC since day one, and have uncovered most of the bugs, & actively pushed for the bugs to be fixed. If that was directed towards me, do your research, before looking even more like a fool.....So, if you are enjoying being an owner, be grateful to, and for, those that DO NOT settle for less...... Maybe he's talking about me. I don't really care. If the RMC-1 had been available the SECOND time is was promised for delivery it would have been sitting in my equipment rack and I'd be suffering along with all the other beta testers. In this case Emotiva's ability to NOT hit a deadline saved me from being a beta tester. That said if they DO get it working I might still buy one. But now there is competition on the horizon so who knows for sure?

My theater has been dark for 5 months waiting to get this fully functioning firmware . Will start testing things out and comparing the differences against the old XMC-1. I truly hope one day your team comes up with a VNC client interface along with directed bass management like the Trinnov as you are already playing in the same sandbox. They had to do the same workaround to address the HDMI 1.4 vs 2.0 issue. Can’t wait to see what happens with HDMI 2.1?!

I had a wry grin when I read this paraphrased avs post mate "Originally Posted by Marc Alexander This is a point you need much more clarification on. Storm is using a MDS/TI decoder board which I doubt is proprietary to Storm. When it switches codecs, I highly doubt it operates any differently than any other DSP based system. At Starke Sound we have experienced some glitches switching between Dolby Atmos (True HD) and DTS-HD MA. A few seconds delay to lock on the new signal and produce sound is excusable. But we did experience no codec lock and no sound on at least one occassion. We had to switch to a different input then back to resolve. Source is an Oppo UDP-203. I have had a terrible time getting Audio Return Channel to be stable with LG OLEDs. I stick a Oppo 203 or HDFury Vertex in the middle terminating the ARC and all is stable. " Says heaps that this firmware is a combined audio/video effort and not piecemeal to be cautious .. I do however think the dsd problem has legs as there is history .. emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/44649/narrow-oppo-players-thump-problems#

Thanks so much for the 1.3 firmware Emotiva! I can't imagine how much work that was. As alluded to in the post above, it can not be easy to navigate through this giant ridiculous maze of formats and specifications and equipment and interactions. Considering that there are probably not two people in the world who have the same setup for their rig it seems an impossible task. Congratulations on this latest effort. DSD and DTS are now playing beautifully through my Oppo 103D. No clicks or thumps or pops or delays! I have been listening to the RMC-1 pretty much continuously since the latest firmware was released yesterday and I have not heard one glitch while playing through multiple sources and formats. Well done!
I also like the new "Please wait" notification. My beautiful wife likes to keep hitting buttons if the change she wants does not happen instantaneously. This has helped curb that unfortunate behavior. Thanks again!

Didn't mean to get your panties all in a bunch, but the fact of the matter is in my case anyway, is that i hardly play any dsd files from my usb stick. My collection of dsd discs that i do play frequently, i don't have any issues whatsoever with the latest firmware so yes, seriously.... i am very happy about that. The soft thump sound i experience with the only 2 dsd file songs that i have on usb is not a big enough issue for me to return it, so i can live with it. If there is a processor out there with no issues whatsoever, i probably can't afford it.

Not much talk about the new v1.3 in this thread when I figured there would be a few pages of it. I’m curious as to the audio dropouts for DTS:X/DTS HD-MA and to a lesser extent Dolby Atmos, has this been totally fixed or greatly reduced? What else has been verified in your home theaters that have been definitely been fixed? Any new bugs creep in? Curious minds want to know!
