Is DTS working correctly now ? DTS:Neural X Still "soft" and "muddy" compare to Dolby In my experience so far, the DTS-HD problem has been fixed. Interesting you find it soft and muddy, the Dark Knight movies I tested with are quite dynamic in my home theater.

I don't use neural x on my current prepro. I like DSU better. Is it possible to use DSU on dtsHD source ?

Loud (all) spkr noise when going from 2k Black Hawk Down LPCM (PCM5.1/DD_Surround) to Dolby Digital sound format (DD5.1/DD_Surround). Had to reduce volume to -70dB quickly. OPPO203 was in bitstream. Switched btwn LPCM and DD5.1 in the 2k disc menu to create all spkr noise … see sequence below. (disc)/OPPO203 > RMC-1 > 4k LG C8 77" tv as noted in Config below.
Sequence:
1. Select LPCM in 2k BHD disc menu. Sound format is PCM5.1/DD_Surround. OK. 1a. Use RMC-1 Main Zone to chg from DSU to DTS Neural:X. OK. 1b. Use RMC-1 Main Zone to chg from DTS Neural:X to DSU. OK. 2. Select DD5.1 in 2k BHD disc menu. Lots of noise from all spkrs. Turn vol down to -70dB. Not Good. 3. Chg'd RMC-1 Inputs 1>2>1. Noise still there. NG. 4. Turn RMC-1 off/on with Standby Button. OK. No more noise.
Movie: 2k Black Hawk Down, 2160p/24, 12bits, YCbCr, 444, SDR; DD5.1/DD_Surround and LPCM (PCM5.1/DD_Surround) and other audio formats as noted above.
Config (9.1.6):
(disc)OPPO203/Main_V/A_Out ---> Input1/RMC-1 RMC-1/Out1 --->Input1/Vertex2/Out1 --->--->Input2/JVC600 Projector(OFF and unplugged from AC and HDMI) RMC-1/Out2 --->Input0/Vertex2/Out0 --->Input1/LG_C8_77"_OLED Vertex2/Audio_Out ---> Input2/RMC-1 (ARC audio from LG ... have not tested this, yet … CEC off on all devices)
Cables: ---> = HDfury 18Mbps 6ft cbl --->---> = Tributaries 18Mbps 33ft cbl

I just tried the 1st Iron Man bluray with Dolby TrueHD for a second time, and this time i got sound and all functions with the remote.
I tried fury road for the 5th time and rmc locked up again, so i won't be trying that one anymore.

First lockup on RMC-1 just now. Just switched channels. No sound. 'PCM:0.0' Tried switching to 'Tuner'. Unit in 'Please wait'. Waited 10 minutes. Never recovered. Front panel switch reset restored sound.

With v1.5, I'd get "no audio" but still have video with DTS-HD MA 5.1 tracks. Work around for this was to switch audio tracks in the source and switch back, and this always worked. Now with v1.7, those DTS-HD MA 5.1 movies lock on to the audio immediately in DTS Neural:X. I too prefer DSU, but at this time it's not available for use with DTS-HD tracks.

Does anyone's RMC lock up/freeze if you try to change OLED brightness in the PREFERENCES>Front Bright. I want to see if it just my RMC?....
I have Left Display= Bitstream, Right Display= Full Status.
You might have to go down to 0% then back up to 100% a couple times.

My posts are being deleted automatically? Someone keeps deleting my posts... Instead of retyping all the wonderful info I did, I suggest all the RMC owners read up on the various lossy, and lossless encoding formats including UNCOMPRESSED PCM. This article is a good start: www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Joshua_Zyber/High-Def_FAQ_Uncompressed_vs_Lossless_Audio/1233You paid good money for the RMC, so don't sell yourself short in enjoying the highest quality audio from your media. Is DTS working correctly now ? As soon as I play something, I will report back.

Normally yes you can use DSU on DTS-HD because Dolby Labs raised the restriction my Emotiva engineers do nothing to unlock the RMC-1

When I go from DSU to DTS Neural: X it lacks 7dB volume and forced to mount the subwoofer, on AV8805 no dynamic difference between DSU, DTS, Auro 3D with any sound format

It just hangs if the trailer starts.

But I haven’t used Neural:X much so I can’t comment on that. I use straight playback mostly (Surround mode).

That's whats important ;that DTS-HD is locking on properly and good to hear you say so . LC is running bed channels only iirc which corelates well with your finding too Any mention of dts neural x being off from Al is just a critique of a dsp mode and conflating 2 different issues .. Another good reason to use dvdfab to eradicate silly trailers

Discs should ALWAYS go straight to the menu if you ask me. Even for us in europe! I always go into audio and subtitles and check that the correct ones are chosen.

When I go from DSU to DTS Neural: X it lacks 7dB volume and forced to mount the subwoofer, on AV8805 no dynamic difference between DSU, DTS, Auro 3D with any sound format DTS Neural:X has always been noticeably "less loud" when compared to DSU … since I started using the unit in January. If you really crank up the volume (which my wife won't allow, lol), DTS Neural:X sounds better … but ONLY at high volume setting. To me, it's like amplifier gain, my first amplifier from Axiom (A1400) had a much higher gain than my 3 other A1500's. Axiom engineering said they reduced the amplifier gain for less noise. Let me know if you think Neural:X sounds better than DSU at high volume settings. EMO development: why is Neural:X less loud than DSU at normal (-25dB or so) listening levels? What's the design requirement for that … higher quality sound?

I had the blocking in "setup" equalizazion, speakers level and changing the sound of the Oppo of Auto /lpcm/bitsream on "Anna" movie Dolby Atmos and other times I do not know what was doing, but I repeat before 1.7 my RMC-1 had never made me block

Can someone check a possible bug I've found. I again have done some speaker level checks and the when I match all channels to 75db using the internal test tones and then check the levels with my Spears and Munsil calibration disc, all channels seem to match except the LFE. Using internal test tones I have LFE set to 75db but when using the Oppo and calibration disc, with all other channels matching the 75db within a decimal or less, the LFE channel was 5-8 db softer. The disc outputs a DTS track when using the speaker levels.
If anyone has the ability to double check the RMC's internal speaker levels and and report back I'd appreciate it.
