Hello people of the Lounge. I'm new to Emotiva equipment & the Lounge.....so be gentle, or at least a kiss first . So my stupid question is, can I run 2 amps off of the XSP-1? I was thinking of running my (new to me) XPA-3 in the balanced output of the XSP-1 and my old B&K 1430 of off the unbalanced output. The XSP is getting delivered today and will be taking the place of my Adcom GFP 555ii. I had been running 2 amps of off the Adcom using a Y-adapters out of the bypass output....it actually sounds good, hoping the Emotiva will be even a better. Just wondered if anyone else is doing this or perhaps has some pearls or wisdom to pass along. Oh, one last stupid question. I know you are supposed to sequence power amps On last & Off first...so I'm guessing the 12v trigger thing is out of the question ( never used them before). Thanks all.

set both toggle switches to FULL range and then the Subwoofer section is full range.

So that section being labeled subwoofer doesn't actually mean "subwoofer only" can be used there......I wondered about that, glad I asked the question...even if I came off as an idiot. This Pre-amp is way over the top for me.....been using an old Adcom gfp-555ii for years ( couldn;t afford the 565..Lol) so this new fangled Emotiva gear is kinda out of my comfort zone. Got a good deal on the XSP-1 and a like new ERC-3 Gen 2....also an XPA-3 Gen 1 ( I think)...and a pair of ERT 8.3"s......hence the confusion, thanks for the knowledge!!

I use the trigger output on the XSP-1 to turn on the subwoofer XPA-100 amp, which then via it's trigger out turns on the right front XPA-1L, which then turns on the left front XPA-1L. It's a daisy chain turn on sequence which avoids any surge by turning on all 3 amps at once.
Cheers Gary

Page 12; Item 12 in the Manual
12. Full Range / Low Pass Selector (for Subwoofer Outputs) To make the Subwoofer Outputs of the XSP-1 full range (and disable bass management for the Subwoofer Outputs), set this switch to the right (away from the Low Pass adjustment screw). Setting this switch to the left (towards the adjustment screw) enables bass management for the Subwoofer Outputs. When bass management is enabled, the Subwoofer Outputs carry only the low frequency part of the audio spectrum (the crossover point is set using the Low Pass adjustment (11)). The Subwoofer Summed Output provides a signal that is a sum of the Left and Right Subwoofer Outputs, and is appropriate for use with a single subwoofer. Some subwoofers include internal (and non-defeatable) bass management, and so work best with a full range signal for their input. When the HT Bypass (Home Theater Bypass) mode is enabled, all three of the Subwoofer Outputs carry buffered copies of the signal received at the Home Theater Sub Input (the signal is reduced by 3 dB on the Left and Right Outputs). Note: To set the XSP-1 for “full bass management”, set both switches towards the center (towards each other). Note: The High Pass and Low Pass crossover points are typically set to the same frequency for smoothest blending of high and low frequency bands, but this may not be optimum in all systems.
