Make sure you only pay with Western Union. Only if its going to someone in Nigeria. It's the only country I can trust.

This is an unauthorized seller. We officially recommend that buyers beware. You can also report too good to be true listings like this to Amazon. These types of listings appear and disappear quickly. Anything that says: "contact us before ordering" is a big red flag.

Nothing to report on this Monday evening. No responses to email, and no oddities with erotic socks for fish. I'd say its a dead end.

I also emailed the Amazon seller (conwell shop) about the Emotiva amps they advertise. Got an email response from them today:
Hello,
We will explain in this email all terms and condition:
The Emotiva XPA-5 or XPA-7 amplifiers is BRAND NEW, never used, ( US model, not grey market or refurbished), but Amazon does not let us list it as new. Product is Sealed in its original box and comes with full Warranty, receipt, all manufacturer supplied accessories...
The total price is $500.00 including all shipping taxes if you are in US and for international shipping you have to pay extra 29,99 $(outside US) .
If you want to buy, send us your phone number, full name, shipping address and we will contact Amazon asap to process your order.
Dispatch is by normal UPS Services, which takes 1-3 days depending on where in the US you are. Our return policy is full money back in 30 days.
For more information don't hesitate to contact us! Many Thanks
Sounds great, doesn't it? Who wants to give it a try? I'm in the market, but think I'll pass. The language sounds a bit foreign, don't you think?
I don't see their ad listed for either of the Emotiva amps anymore. And do you think we can read anything into their name? (conwell)
Cheers!
Chuck

Same email I received. What is another red flag is the name doesn't match the store name that was listed on Amazon. I suspect an account may have been hacked.

Same email I received. What is another red flag is the name doesn't match the store name that was listed on Amazon. I suspect an account may have been hacked. This is a scam, and a systemic problem with Amazon. It happens across all product categories. I suspect though that there is especially more of it happening with electronics and high value items. I used to spend time turning accounts like this in, but I stopped because it took too much of my time. My Amazon contact says that these type of listings and companies are reviewed constantly. There's a whole department concentrated on fraud and scams with resellers. What typically happens is that they'll get removed and then will create another profile. I would not email them. If you are concerned with their validity, email or call Amazon. Remember also, even if they did have a unit to sell you, which I suspect they don't, our warranties must be transferred by the registered owner. You'd likely not have a valid warranty.
