Hi Nick, sounds like a very fair deal to me - hats off! Since I am not planning to go Atmos in the near future, what other benefits does the XMC-2 have over the XMC-1? I would especially be interested in DIRAC with more than 48kHz of internal processing... Thank you and best regards Fabian

You will get a fresh warranty too. It is just like trading in your car for the latest model. New car smell!

Now I'm thinking you need to include one of these but in "New XMC-2" scent kind of like the included "E"motiva M&M's that came with us early adopters of the XMC-1

Awesome! So when can I bring my XMC-1 in to trade? So geebo’s asked the $64,000 question! (Or maybe $601) If someone’s XMC-1 was headed to Franklin, could they get an XMC-2 back instead?

It appears to only apply to XMC's still under warranty, if I read it correctly. I'm curious - are there any XMC's that are now outside the warranty period? Or if people hold off and their warranty expires, are they not eligible?

Or if people hold off and their warranty expires, are they not eligible? My read is that, for XMC-1’s purchased used, as long as the warranty was transferred then it’s eligible for trade in. Not that it has to be still in warranty at the time of trade in. Cheers Gary

As far as I know, there isn't an end date on this trade in. I want to confirm what others were asking about. It says it applies only to XMC-1's that are "under warranty". I was an early purchaser (and bought directly from Emotiva), and my warranty runs out in about 1 year. So...am I right to assume that the offer expires when my current XMC-1's warranty runs out? Mark

Seems a bit wrong to penalise early adopters. Nick, can you confirm if this really is the case? pete S

It is just like trading in your car for the latest model. New car smell! I wouldn't use that analogy. Maybe for the smell, but trading in cars to a dealer is almost always a loosing deal for the owner. I'd say its usually a major A.F. On the contrary, this Emotiva trade in thing sounds pretty cool at first glance. The next big question I haven't seen asked is, what are you going to do with all the trade ins? Clean them up and sell as referbs maybe? Just curious.

It is great news, but why the original box After a few years that is almost impossible to keep the box. It has always been recommended to keep boxes especially for something like a processor, I have all my boxes, rafters in the garage is perfect storage space and yes not everyone has that so can be difficult for some, replacement boxes can be ordered from Emotiva.
