My wife ordered a greenhouse from China (yes...really...a greenhouse...from China. Heck, great price, so...why not?), and it was shipped via China Post. We were given a tracking # and we can see that it made it from China to San Francisco.
Then, it shows it "Arrived United States Secondary Processing Center" on July 29th. There are no updates since that step. I've heard that once something transfers from international post to USPS that tracking updates stops. Is that true or could the item just be sitting out at the processing center awaiting release? Is there any way to get more status on it, or should we just wait for it to show up?
Mark

Mark Everything I’ve ever ordered from China tracks till it hits the states, and then it just shows up one day! No US tracking from what I’ve ordered. Just hang in there, it’ll show up.

Just be patient. It needs to go thru customs. Any idea the typical time that takes from China (via air shipment)? 14 days so far. Mark

Mark It depends on what it is. 60 days is the longest I have had to wait. And beware, if it is subject to a new tariff that was not considered in the price you paid, the item could arrive with a bill from the Government.

A friend of mine unknowingly ordered some paint brushes from China and it took twenty-seven days for them to arrive. Hang in there.

Given it's a greenhouse, I think we'll be toward the end of the timeframe! I'm curious how big the package will be. It's a 14' * 6' * 7' greenhouse. (Some assembly required...) Mark

My experience is that tracking of the two postal systems are not compatible so it is not possible to follow something to delivery. I have had actual delivery times vary between 10 and 30 days.

Mark I've bought a few things via ebay that comes direct from China. Try putting your tracking number into the USPS website. Once the package is in USPS hands you should be able to get tracking info.

Bingo...that's the answer. That has worked for me as well. One bad experience though. I had two items shipped from the factory in China in two packages, at the same time. I tracked them both through the china post stops it went through, and then on the USPS tracking site when they both arrived at the USPS sorting facility in New York. One's tracking continued for a few more days as it made it's way through the USPS system to my home. The second package, however, was logged in at the USPS facility in New York, and then dropped into a black hole somewhere and was never heard from again.

My experience with China Post is the tracking updates close to never and the package will arrive in 2 to 8 weeks. I have had packages delivered and the tracking still says it is awaiting customs. If it didn’t arrive today wait until tomorrow... repeat until the package shows up.

If it didn’t arrive today wait until tomorrow... repeat until the package shows up. The phrase "hurry up and wait" comes to mind. No updates since 7/29 and I have a feeling we won't get any until it either arrives or we decide it's lost and go back to the vendor. Mark
