Hi David, Can I get some help on how to setup the remote app on XMC-2? Does it needs to connect to internet? Thanks in advance. Danny So I have my RMC-1 hard wired into my network via cat 5 connection in the back of the RMC-1. My wireless router is also tied into my network. I just downloaded the XMC-1 app and the rmc shows up when I turn the app on. I didn't have to do anything to the RMC itself to get it on the network after I plugged it in. Hi David, Great thank you. I guess i'll bring down the wifi extender to use the cable to connect xmc-2 Danny

Hey guys, just ordered an XMC-2; currently I have a 7.2.4 set up and my room is wired up and speakered up for a 9.2.6 set up... so my fairly basic question is... how do I get a second subwoofer for my XMC-2? XLR Splitter?

XMC-2 handles multiple subwoofers. The issue is when Dirac is available. Currently Dirac measures the subs separately. This does not accurately reflect how they actually sound in the room when playing together. With current Dirac (and presumably 2.0) a better answer for two subs is to use a Y cable and let the XMC-2 and Dirac see it as one. A better answer than that is to use a MiniDSP on the sub output so you can independently adjust time delay of the two subs. If you do that, you can also use the PEQ in the MiniDSP to knock down peaks ... or use the PEQ in the XMC-2, before Dirac is available.
There seem to be enhancements to Dirac bass management coming too ... but first things first.

I only use one sub, but I have set up 2 using an XMC-1 and I achieved a great result using dual mono subs, FWIW I haven't needed to use a Y cable; Is the XMC-2 different in that manner? Cheers Gary

Atmos is pretty impressive imho. My in-ceiling speakers are doing a nice job and it looks clean.
All the Atmos movies need to be rewatched - it’s a lot more immersive and the XMC2 doesn’t disappoint.
I need Dirac now 😬

Hey all,
So after much deliberation between the XMC2, NAD T778, or Arcam AVR10 I decided to pick up a used XMC2 from an AVS Forum member. Setup is 5.1.4 that used to be run by an Anthem AVM60 (had to sell due to financial issues at the time). I briefly owned an XMC1 back in 2016 and loved it but had to part ways shortly after acquiring.
1) Dirac Live is the biggest draw for me, so I figure I'd ask the burning question: Any hint or fingers crossed timeline for Dirac release?
2) Is the included mic with the XMC2 individually calibrated or calibrated in batches? How well does it compare to getting a Spectrum Labs calibrated UMIK-1?
Thanks!

Can't give a comparison to the UMIK-1, but I can say that the mic included worked great for Dirac on my XMC-1.

Gave MUCH better results than cal file provided by emotiva. If you ever decide to do any measurements with rew you'll need a umik-1 anyway... It's a cheap price to pay to know you're getting correct information.

As I remember you were pretty near the front of the line, probably slipped by, but if you haven't already I'd call and make sure they know you didn't get it.

Thanks, I assumed as much but always helps to ask the experts You could get a MiniDSP unit to better integrate the two subs (e.g. individual delay and EQ for each sub). You'd also have the ability to double the amount of subs you have rather easily. I am strongly considering the XMC2 vs RMC1 and have a 9.3.6 alignment. The reason I'm more inclined to go with the XMC2 is I want to have the ability to apply "Bass EQ" filters wirelessly from my Surface tablet and one needs to use a MiniDSP 2x4 HD to do that.

If I am using a single sub setup (5.1.4), and I want all LFE AND all Bass Management content to go to that sub, does it matter if I use the Center Sub channel or the Left Sub channel? Either way, I just set it to Mono, correct?

Use either output, and yes, mono ... but if you don’t plug it into the ‘Center’ sub output, your head will always tilt a bit when you’re listening to music, at least mine would. 🤪

Either way, I just set it to Mono, correct? That’s my setup and maybe I’ll try that. I just hooked up both left and right XLR cables to the sub and set it to dual mono.
