Factory reset and restore did not fix. I will now re-download the firmware and reflash.

Reflash went through.
Did not fix the issue.
Most likely will have to send it back. I’ll find out tomorrow.

I thought for sure that was the answer. I’ll update tomorrow after I talk to them. If I have to send it back, I’m wondering how long to fix. It would be great if they just sent a new unit.

Anyway, not sure if anyone else has this issue. I had this happen right after I flashed 1.7, put the unit on lowest power standby and it hasn't happened again.

No It won’t pass audio or video in low power standby. Have you tried a source other than DTV? I imagine that’s what you want to watch, but seeing if another source will pass through with Video on Standby could help Emotiva resolve the problem (maybe even while you’re still in the drive through).

I’ll give it a shot, but I’m not sure why audio would work with another source. But, I guess stranger things have happened. It did work with DTV on firmware 1.5.

I’ve never had a problem with DTV either, but I do remember some issues when the V3 board was new (I didn’t have DTV at the time). If others aren’t having this problem it’s worth a try.

Tried other sources including bluray with the same results.
Will call this morning. My guess is that there is a failure in the HDMI output (I tried both outputs) involving the audio portion.
I’ll let everyone know what happens.
Just to add....if I hit the "loudness" or "speaker presets" button(s) on the remote while I'm in Video on Standby (amp not activated), I get about three seconds of sound before it cuts out and goes silent. Hit the buttons again, three more seconds....

Ok, just spoke to tech support. They want me to go back to firmware 1.5 to see if the audio comes back. If it does, that could mean that it is a firmware issue. The strange thing is that I'm the only one to report this so far.
I did tell them that all the equipment, cables, etc. worked fine with the XMC-1. I highly doubt that it is system specific.
If it doesn't come back, then it's likely a hardware problem, maybe.
This will be reported to the powers that be in Tech.
I am at work and won't be able to do the backwards firmware update till around 3:00pm EST.
At this point it's all up in the air in terms of resolution.

After you back-date the firmware please remove power from all devices for a minute, just for a fresh start for all HDMI.

Ok, I went back to firmware 1.5 and video on standby works again.
I called tech support back and they told me that apparently that is an issue with 1.7 for certain brands/models of TV. They said they have noted it and would be addressed next firmware update.
Hoping that’s the case.

I have the same problem of no audio to TV (LG 55SK900PUA and Directv) but both firmware versions 1.5 : 1.7 have no audio to TV for me. Also have random no audio at all except center sub still works(XMC-2)with PCM 0.0 on display and PCM 2.0 usually after changing channel have to go to standby then power switch off/on to fix anyone else?

Unfortunately just suffered my first repeating issue that I can't remedy with a permanent fix (as I was able to yesterday with other issues). DirecTV is hooked up to XMC via Optical and the DTV receiver outputs video directly to TV. Went from one input to DirecTV input and no sound at all. Cycling input fixed. But it is second time this issue has happened.
Damn.

With 1.5 audio is working fine when in Video on Standby mode. With the XMC-2 fully powered on, I ran into a couple of instances of no audio when switching channels with Directv. I managed to get the sound back by toggling back and forth between channels. I also noticed the PCM 0.0 when no sound.

Call and/or send an email to Emotiva support. I would be on 1.7 except my video on standby was not working. Hopefully next firmware will address these issues.
