agreed..... gonna get the rmc-1l but would probably be happy with a more limited 7.2 platform based on the rmc work..... maybe they will make something like that.

He had a lot of nice things to say, I thought this to be one of the nicest ...
“I know I said this of the XMC-1, but it's even truer of the RMC-1: I would put this multichannel processor up against any two-channel preamp in its price range and defy even the stodgiest of audiophiles to besmirch the fidelity of the Emotiva's two-channel performance.”

Interesting that he didn't wait for Dirac, as that is the 'raison d'etre', at least in my opinion. I had assumed that Emotiva wouldn't release one for a professional review until Dirac was included. But, like he says, the RMC-1's abilities are ongoing.

The few music blu rays I played on it sounded incredible.
It substantially bested a lot of other processors I've had in my theater including Anthem AVM60, Denon flagship models, and even my current Marantz 8805 does not sound as good.
Looking forward to room correction being implemented and all bugs worked out. It's a badazz piece Scott

I use the RMC-1 to drive both my XPA / B&W Home Theatre system, and my VTL / Magnepan Two Channel system, both systems sound the best they’ve ever sounded. To the reviewer’s point, when listening to 2C, I never feel the preamp is limiting or coloring the sound; and the Reference Stereo, Direct, and Stereo modes give great listening flexibility for various recordings or music types.

The refurb XMC-1's are a good option for many, for sure. Once they are gone, I would not doubt we'll see a lower line model to fill a lower price point with the latest DACs, HDMI board, etc. yet in fewer channels. Mark
