What is the consensus, assuming there is one, regarding direct stacking of audio gear such as the XSP-1 and the XMC-1/XMC-2 or any pre pro for that matter. Will there be enough ventilation for each component? Do the components interfere with one another in some adverse manner?
I have read anecdotal stories of the latter example. For instance owners are adamant the PS Audio Stellar M700 mono blocks sound much better when not stack on top of one another.
Thanks

I have my components stacked for the last 10 years with not no noticeable concerns. The only reason I currently don't have my Sony UHD player in the stack is that it's too small and I don't feel comfortable putting that much weight on top of it.
->Turn table ->XMC-2 (UMC-1, XMC-1) ->XSP-1 (Sherborn Pre-1) ->XDA-2 (XDA-1) ->ERC-3 (ERC-1) ->Belkin Pure AV
Previously had my Oppo between the Belkin and ERC-3.

Its all fine if there is proper ventilation to keep the heat reasonable. Nothing wrong with some intentional airflow.

Funny you mention that, I had gear stacked and the Comcast Cable Box was emitting some kind of EMI into my preamp/processor. Once I moved the cable box, all was good.

The only thing that should be stacked is your girlfriend!
