Unexpected. Bought a set of tires for the Cherokee ran over a razor blade. Changed the flat myself. Haven't done that in over 40 years. Now on truth I did get 10 years out of the Michelins though.

My new XPA7-3-2s arrived while I was in Atlanta...got home last night, and it's in place and wired up now! It's nice to have all channels working again! Next up, put up my new top/height Atmos speakers and run DIRAC! Mark

WiiM Amp + NHT Superzero 2.1s I remember those. I was a dealer for years with NHT. NHT make very interesting speakers. Several years ago I had a really cool email exchange with one of the co-founders, Chris Byrne. I had emailed them with questions about their Classic Three bookshelf and the man himself replied. Nice surprise and very nice guy.

I do a lot of measurements with the UMIK-1 and REW, but when I'm sitting in the MLP often I want to see what's going on to correlate with what I hear. I also sometimes play test files like the moving Atmos signals from the S&M disc or Spatial Audio Toolkit. I use Audio Tools from Studio Six Digital for this, with the iPhone microphone doing the measurements. I also take measurements and look at the frequency spectrum during live performances (when I can do so discretely) .... again to correlate what I hear to what I see in the measurements. This gets attention at audio shows, where people seem shocked by the idea that one can KNOW what the sound is doing, instead of just making up nonsense So I've been looking for a proper microphone to use and this week found that Studio Six Digital now has a USBC version of their iTestMic2. So here it is. It connects to the iPhone with a sturdy USBC cord, automatically is recognized by the Audio Tools app, and its calibration file is automatically loaded. I was curious how it compared to the UMIK-1 so I measured my L/R first with the UMIK-1 and its calibration file, then with the iTestMic2 with no calibration file, and then with the iTestMic2 with the UMIK-1 calibration file. I thought the results were surprisingly good ... so much so that I might envision tweaking the UMIK-1 cal file to compensate for the droop above 6KHz. I also sent a support email to Studio Six asking of there's a way to get the cal file for my mic to use with REW (or even Dirac). Here's the left channel ... UMIK-1 dark blue, iTestMic2 bright blue, iTestMic2 with UMIK-1 calibration file dashed line.

Ordered another Arendal 1961 1v sub for the rear of the room.... Multiple subwoofers is an addiction, I hope your neighbors don’t live too close!!! Hello... my name is Luis and I am a bassaholic. One of my neighbors txt'd me one night while walking his dog... based on what he heard from the sidewalk, he wanted to know which John Wick movie I was watching, 1, 2, 3... or 4. I wonder what's gonna happen once this 3rd arrives and is setup in my room...

My wife wanted a soundbar for our great room TV (not the theater). So, I decided to give this a try. Wish me luck... Mark
