This weekend we replaced our WiFi Video Doorbell with a Reolink PoE model (I love PoE!). Also got a nice escutcheon and made a custom mount for the camera, fits our 'modern Arts and Crafts' home style. It all works and looks great, good camera and picture, clean install, very reliable signal, and one less WiFi device! So for this thread:* New Reolink PoE Video Doorbell * New custom escutcheon * New splice boxes … but wait there’s more … A bit of a DIY here too, including:* Extend an abandon CAT 5 cable with a splice to a CAT 6 pigtail, and terminate the other end on the patch panel (got a half dozen of these splice kits for other similar projects). * Used a RJ45 shorting plug I built a while back to check continuity and resistance on older wires and splices. * Drill through the escutcheon’s metal plate and slate for the CAT 6 cable. I had never drilled slate before, it’s much softer than I expected, a masonry bit made short work of it. * Cut and paint a backing board to get the camera away from the wall a bit, improving the viewing angle. * Mount it all to the wall, and add it to our camera stable in the (Blue Iris) NVR. The splice ... The tester ... ... almost there ... all done! Welcome! (... smile )

You don't talk much about them, but without them, the excitement don't happen. Spare battery for my Canon M5.

My latest purchase...a trip to Costa Mesa, California to join my wife after she wrapped up working costumes/wardrobe for the Disney touring version of Aladdin. My gypsy is done travelling for a while, so...Disneyland, sunsets off the left coast, and some drives up and down the coast to come! A good purchase. Hopefully whale watching and a drive down to Laguna tomorrow for some amazing food with an ocean view. Of course, the gypsy already has plans to work at home on the Cincinnati Opera a week after she's home. She just loves her work! Mark

I've been wanting/needing a worthy bike work stand for awhile now, so after a complete debacle purchase from my local REI of an entry level Park Tool repair/work stand, REI.com has made good on a bad customer experience and offered me a substantial deal/discount on the top line portable team issue repair stand, Park Tool PRS-25. I'll be using it for repairs/upgrades/washing of my titanium Litespeed bikes. www.parktool.com/en-us/product/team-issue-repair-stand-prs-25?category=Portable
