Not really a diversity of cameras as they call Nikon and Canon "Canikon." I do love my Sony full frame and lenses. Funny thing here, all of my photography life (32 Years ), I used Pentax 35mm but for some reason cannot do that brand for digital. My first digital camera was a Sony Mavica, I still have it. Then Olympus or their fast f1.8 lens and finally Canon. The difference in actual images between all cameras is more lens related that anything else, except maybe the new Nikon D7000. None the less, size, feel, weight and other external factors are quite important in choosing ones shooter. Very true. I've had many cameras over the years but used Minolta longer than anything else. Sony had bought Konica-Minolta and I wanted a full frame DSLR for not too much money. The Sony has the nicest viewfinder and is the cheapest full frame, sort of like Emotiva is to audio. It fits in my hand better than any other camera's I've owned. It is one of the noisiest at high ISOs but I grew up with Tri-X being grainy and it's far less noisy than 35mm Tri-X, even at ISO800. I had shot large format in photo school so shooting APS-C just seemed too much of a sacrifice in image quality, esp. after using a tiny sensored Konica Minolta A2 and A200 which even at 200 ISO was noisy. I did love the size of those cameras though as they fit in my purse. The Nex-7 is coming out soon and I may get that if they introduce the promised adapter to autofocus screw drive lenses such as my CZ 135 f/1.8 and Tamron 90mm macro. I would once again have a camera for my purse.

I think cameras dont belong in this thread.

HP Touchpad 32GB I scored during the fire sale arrived today. Also picked up a case and a Touchstone charger for it. My first tablet so I'm excited!

Decided to start playing again after a table saw accident. Picked up one of these and a small really cool modelling practice amp. Love the Duncan pickups.

The wheels make it so easy to just roll out of the garage to cut back on the mess inside, another great thing is it folds up and I can stand it up against a wall to take up less space. I think its one of the best deals on table saws out there at the moment, $400 with the stand.

So I live along St. Mary's River that feeds the potomac and then the Chesakeape bay. When Ernesto came through I had a lot of tree damage but this storm looks to be much worse. I was wait listed at Lowes for a generator that was supposed to come in today and I decided to go their early this morning just in case. Really glad I did.. There were 142 persons on the wait list for 100 generators so Lowes decided no wait list....first come first served. I got one. This can run my computers, refrigerator, and some lights no sweat. I also bought a siphon in case I run out of fuel from my gas cans. Loaded up on watermelons and nuts. Our area was out of power for 2 plus weeks during Isabelle and power outage is my big fear. My other fear is the sailboat and the storm surge. It is too far and too late to get it to a marina but I did wait list and may make a run tomorrow morning. The Kayak dock will probably get damaged as well as the pier. Kind of stressing on this one!
