The review of the TA-100 is flat out a hard product to beat at this price point. Class A/B amplifier that actually has great drive ability even at 4 ohms is incredible. Full digital compliment plus a pretty will implemented DAC that sounds damm good. The remote yes it’s not made out of milled aluminum like it’s bigger siblings but it is functional and does the job perfectly. The weakest link is how to get the FM section to work is a pain in the caboose. I think or wish the manual was a little better at addressing the access of the tuner. I spent over an hour trying to get this part setup and was totally disappointed how difficult it was compared to the ease of everything else. If comparing this product to let’s say Vincent audio that is over 1k with pretty much gave or take same amplification but it is a Hybrid integrated. The Emotiva TA-100 held it owns with no problem at less than half it cost to the Vincent Audio. Again Emotiva brings audiophile quality to the masses like Henry Ford did for the automobile.

I totally agree about the tuner on this component. It could have only been designed by a troubled mind. Can't imagine what they were thinking making a radio tuner so difficult to deal with. Otherwise its an awesome device and performs very well. It is worth noting mine replaced a Peachtree iNova that at the time cost about 4 to 5 times the price of the TA-100 yet did not sound or perform nearly to the standards of the TA-100. It really is a bargain. I have now teamed mine up with the A-300 amp and B1+ speakers.

The TUNER moves it from the realm of 'integrated amp' to Receiver.
An integrated amp 'integrates' a preamp WITH a power amp.....Sans Tuner.
Regardless, for the $$$ this is a fair value proposition.
I would rather go this way than the REAL cheap Insignia Receiver from Best Buy. Usual price about 120$ and it should last about a year.

My son is very happy with his TA-100 and T1's, "sounds amazing" was his first comment.
Cheers Gary

Very happy so far with my TA-100, which replaced a solid Yamaha integrated. The TA-100 paired with T-Zero speakers sounds amazing - but that remote absolutely sucks. I have never seen a remote that cheaply built and work so poorly. Really takes away from the overall quality of the product.

Get a programmable remote?Logitech Harmony....

Get a programmable remote?Logitech Harmony.... I plan to, but shouldn't have too. The remote is a very small part of the cost, there is no justification for Emotiva using this one. They really should replace them with something that at least works decently. It does make you wonder where else a shortcut may have been taken.

It does make you wonder where else a shortcut may have been taken. They are a step down from the "X" series such as XPA-5...etc. But they are still well built and designed. Take a look at the pictures for the TA-100 on their sales page. Nicer then the mainstream fare. The remotes are not the metal beasts of say the XMC-1/2, RMC series, and you are right, they should be a little nicer, but an inexpensive Harmony remote should satisfy you.
