Hello guys, I have an issue with my A-700. After a while while watching a movie ( 30-60 minutes) fans started to make like a br nasty noise and squeak] I spoked with emotiva and they think that noise IS in fact the 'fan chirp' (or a defective fan if it's making that noise at FULL rotation) I still under warranty but i dont want to sent it back to emotiva because i need to pay the shipping both ways since i lived in Canada. I'm wondering if there's a " in house fix" that my dealer could do instead of sending her back in the usa? I dont want to be months without an amp I'm wondering if the BTFS.V1 kit could work ? Best regards, Ben

Did they say anything about their repair facility in Calgary, they had opened one there years back, if so do you need to pay shipping both ways to there ? Cheers, Chad from Manitoba

If it is a Fan issue, looks like it would be pretty easy to replace. Wonder what Emotiva's thoughts are on just sending you a fan. a700_top_0-1_1500x.webp (99.54 KB) It looks pretty trivial to replace. It the pigtail of the fan is just a connector to the board. Unscrew and replace the fan in reverse order. Easy as can be. Plus if this is a common part and you can get a vendor part number, the fan should be easy to source in Canada. But ask Emotiva first! If they are willing to work with you and a fan is an easy fix you should be able to do this with little difficulty. Again Consult Emotiva Support first before you do anything like this. Follow all safe guards and instructions from Emotiva. Any time you go inside electronics there is a risk of personal injury or worse. If you do go inside please exercise care. Summary, reach out to Emotiva and ask about the fan procedure replacement if that really is causing the sound you are hearing which is most likey. A repetitive noise and whirring is a fan issue. There are 2 fans as shown in the image I included here. Above all else and have I said this enough times? Consult with Emotiva Audio Support for next steps. Let us know how you make out from all this. Should be easy really.
