Well, thanks for feedback guys and gals. I went ahead and upgraded to the XMC-2. Now I just need to find all the old accessories somehow or I will be charged additional money. I wouldn't sweat the possible charges. They're not a huge amount of money. I spent the better part of two days trying to find the black plastic "stand" for one of the antennas which was only $5. Not worth the effort. The big items are Remote $30, Mic $30. Others are Mic Digitizer Cable $15, Mic Stand with Clip $10, Power Cord $10, FM Antenna $5.

I'm considering this same idea. Looking at the fine print, it says "XMC-1 with valid warranty". I'm the original owner but looks like I'm beyond the 5yrs. - Sometimes the terseness of my reply can't be blamed on my phone.

They definitely do. I did it with an expired warranty. What they mean is a warranty that was in your name when it was valid.

Yes if the XMC-1 warranty is in your name and even if the 5 years has passed you are good to go for the trade in, for $1050 why not get a new XMC-2 with 5 years of warranty and new tech, there are always firmware issues to get sorted out as it was the same for the XMC-1 but it will get there, most don't have issues anyhow, and like I've mentioned what other company gives you a brand new unit for your used one and $1000, I know marantz doesn't and too boot their SQ isn't comparable either Chad
