I recently changed the HDMI board in my XMC-1 for the 4K board. All's working fine, except I noticed today that the Zone 2 output (and actually the Zone 1 downmix output) seem to have no output. Anyone come across this? I wonder if I happened to knock a different cable or if anyone had seen anything similar. I've dropped Emo a note as well, but grateful for any insight.

For anyone interested, I heard back from Keith, and it's actually a known problem with the current XMC-1 firmware - 5.15. Zone 2 doesn't work properly. So, at least I didn't waste my time pulling my rack to piece and dismantling the XMC to see if I'd dislodged something during the HDMI board change.

Exact ! Keith is aware of the issue since the summer. I was told that it will be addressed in an upcoming firmware update . Let’s hope that the XMC 1 will not be forgotten

I use Zone 2 extensively and also have experienced that switching doesn't work for HDMI sources ever since the board upgrade... as best I can tell, I can only use analog inputs now on Zone2 - and can't "follow main" even for those. (I noticed it the day I got the processor back with upgraded board; Emo confirmed in March 2020 that they were aware of the issue.)
Anybody heard if/when there will be new firmware for XMC-1? I don't need any new features and not really wanting to spring $650 to get XMC-2.

I don't need any new features and not really wanting to spring $650 to get XMC-2. That’s really too bad, one of the reasons I switched to the UMC-1 about 10 years ago, was that it could send digital sources (including HDMI) to the Zone 2 outputs. At the time that feature was rare, and most AVRs and processors could only do analog. Since then the XMC-1 and now the RMC-1 have always been able to send any source to Zone 2. You won’t solve that problem here, you need to open a ticket, either call (best), or eMail (better than here) sales@emotiva.com.

Thanks.
(Didn't realize til now that you answered, thought I would get an email about it and then only now came to manually check...)
I had an email trail with Emo in March 2020, when they said it would "eventually" be fixed in a firmware update. I guess I'll try calling them and ask what a ticket is or if there is any way to actually get this fixed. All I got out of the $450 upgrade was 4k passthru; if I'd known, not sure I'd have traded $450 and HDMI to zone 2 for that 4k passthru...

Tai I found the 4K upgrade worthwhile, but agree, if I had lost Z2 I’d not have been happy. Might there be an older FW that would return Z2 and not have other problems you can’t live with? I might have some in my FW library, I’ll check. (I think you can turn on email notifications, though I haven’t tried)
