I have a Nvidia TV Shield (2017) with the new remote. It is running latest firmware. I recently upgrading from a UMC-1 and the Shield remote can change the volume of the UMC-1 and my new XMC-2. I would also like to turn the XMC-2 on and off from the Shield remote however this does not work for me.
I am not sure how I got volume control working in the first place because now when I go into Shield IR setup there is no Emotiva products listed.
Does anyone have success with controlling power of their XMC-2 (or other recent vintage processor) with the Shield remote? If so, how did you do it? IR? CEC?
Thanks,
John

I run the new shield (tube style) with the xmc-2, its the only device I use. Volume works, but I have to power cycle the xmc and sony tv every 1-5 days because the CEC volume stops working after awhile. Did you check all the CEC boxes in the xmc menu?

I am using IR volume control (not CEC). It stopped once in the week I have had the XMC-2. However, the old Shield remote still controlled the volume. Based on this I rebooted the Shield and the new remote started controlling XMC-2 volume again. It is good to see you have basics of CEC volume control working so that gives me some confidence to keep going down that path since I can't see how to get IR volume control working again if something resets on the Shield. For CEC control I have randomly picked CEC boxes (probably not everything) in the XMC menu and haven't gotten power control working. I can select everything later today. Do you have power control working so that the Shield turns the XMC on and off via CEC?
