Listening to TV through RMC-1 at normal level, unit triggers safety power switch then comes on to reboot loop. Something blown in it? All my other equipment are fine. Tried switching on and off, removed lead overnight, stood on one foot while swinging a cat etc... Used contact reply to report and haven’t had any response. Is this the best way to initiate a repair?

Finally got an email, answered and no response back. Is it always this slow to initiate a repair return?

I have no clue exactly what that will do to the response time but certainly, it adds to the problem. Make SURE they know where you are, in your correspondence with them, though I’m sure you are way ahead of me. Bill

Is the postage more than the unit is worth?

There are several Aussies on the board who may know if there is still an in-country dealer or repair shop, you might want to amend your title to try and attract them. As for eMail speed, I think it’s hit and miss, I’ve had quick responses with both eMail and phone, but not everyone has been so lucky. Sorry, I’m sure it’s frustrating, good luck with the repair.

Is the postage more than the unit is worth? It’s not going first class with a seven day stay over in Dubai!

There would be a repairer in Adelaide who Emotiva deal with. I had a XPA2 Gen 3 fail on me in Canberra and found a local repair guy who Emotiva dealt with. They sent him the replacement parts free of charge as it was under warranty but I had to pay labour for the local guy. Cheaper than shipping back to Tennessee. Ring Emotiva help line...they are great people and easy to deal with. Dan himself spoke to me.

It’s gone to Victoria @$180 for shipping. 9 months old with the initial purchase price plus the $180, makes me wonder if there’s going to be more issues?

Most of the time, in my experience, failures tend to occur early or late in the lifetime of a product. Better if under warranty. Likely the repair will give you many years of enjoyment. For now, think positive.

Thought I'd have no music, works out I can connect two of my speakers to their relevant sub and then to my Oppo via XLR and use the Oppo's variable output. Using the tuner through the TV and optical in. Sounds absolutely superb. I actually don’t need an amp, if it wasn’t for “all the other speakers”! Retract statement!

RMC-1 is back from repairs and all is good with the world. I've updated to firmware 2.2 and all is good.
