After a recent brief power outage I have lost audio. Please help.
First step was a hard power off, then a “load default” and finally an upgrade to the latest software (3.3.1). It worked normally for a day or two after the software upgrade with normal being defined as audio controlled and amplified using the Emotiva components, but now the only way to get audio is through the TV.
My current setup is:
Pre-Pro Video Switching - MC 700 Amplification XPA-5 gen 2 Video Sources - Oppo 103 and Apple TV 4k Video Display - Samsung Speakers - Paradigm 5.1 setup Cables - Audioquest
Connections are fairly simple. I have a 4k/ARC compatible HDMI cable running between the MC 700 (HMDI/ARC output) and the Samsung Anynet hub (HDMI/ARC input). The Apple TV is connected as HDMI 1 with the MC 700 menu configured as video and audio HDMI 1. The Oppo 103 is connected as HDMI2 with the MC 700 menu configured as video and audio HDMI 2. Samsung’s Anynet is connected with CEC switched on .
So again the problem is that the MC 700 is displaying no audio but is obviously routing both video and audio from both the Apple and Oppo devices to the Samsung.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is a common problem with the MC-700. Sometimes it will simply stop working. Mine has done this a handful of times over the last year (including this morning, prompting me to come here). There is no fix that I've been able to determine, nor any particular cause. Sometimes it happens after a power cycle, sometimes I wake up in the morning and there's simply no audio. At first I was convinced it was HDMI issues, but one day I gave up trying to get it to work again and decide to play some vinyl while I waited for it to "fix itself" again. To my surprise, the analog inputs didn't play either. So this isn't an HDMI issue, it's just an issue with something inside the MC-700 itself. I'm currently on firmware 3.3 and am considering downgrading to an earlier version, and then I suppose it will be Amazon to purchase a Denon AVR For anyone considering Emotiva, I'm sad to say I would buy their amps and not much else. The MC-700 sounds pretty great, but it's like having a fast car that's in the shop all the time. Not as fun if you can't use it.

For anyone who comes after, I was able to get mine working this morning by doing a factory reset, power-cycling (via rear power switch), and then doing a complete reconfiguration (without the power-cycle, the EmoQ calibration would just hang).
Not an amazing Monday morning.

Same problem here, no sound at all from any of the output incl. headphones. Sources all checked and working. Disconnecting everything, reloading factory defaults and just trying headphones and an analog source, still no sound. Complet resets / restart a few times, still no sound. Checked all voltages from power supply all ok. I have had the power supply fail 3 times, had a new one sent and installed that also died. Fix it ect. Great concept poor implementation.
No more Emotiva for me, but the MC-700 was about the only choice for an affordable surround pre-amp / processor back when. More choices now.
