I hope somebody can help me. I've been trying to order a power lift recliner. I got one that seemed perfect until it broke nearly instantly. www.amazon.com/DEVAISE-Dual-Motor-Recliner-Elderly-Upholstery/dp/B07X3VTL53/But it had all the features, size, and comfort we needed. It needs to - BE DURABLE - In home delivery and assembly - In home protection plan - support about 350 to 400 pounds. - to recline flat. - be comfy and cushy. - Be wide (22 inches armrest to armrest) See pic Would like to spend between $800-1k. But may be open to spending more. Does anybody have any advice?

I have a Flexsteel two seat reclining sofa. I'm 230, a buddy who comes over for races and Movie Night! is around 350, and no problems in two years. Mine is not a lift, but this company makes them. Flexsteel Oscar. This is probably more than $1k, but I show this so you know what is available. I've seen Flexsteel furniture at The Dump for a lot less than I paid for mine.

Thanks for taking the time! Something like the flexsteel is what I'm looking for. Do you know where you got it? Do they offer in home installation protection plan etc. What do you think of the comfiness? I see there is a purposeful curvature in the seat area where it curves rather than is flat. Is that comfortable or not?

I would hope that all Flexsteel dealers offer the same home delivery and setup that my dealer offered and was included in the price. Flexsteel.com is where this dealer locator can be found. As a comparison here is a photo of my love seat which is very comfortable and I use it every day, and sometimes have fallen asleep for the night in it as well. The seat is very comfortable and very supportive. If needed, there is a way to add stuffing to some of the cushions by way of zippers. The measurement between the armrest and console is 21.5".

If the rear of the chair is at ear level or above, perhaps not so good for audio, unless headphones.

Flexsteel is a good brand. La-Z-Boy is another. I'd also check Costco to see what they carry. Their buyers assess all their products for quality & reliability before they stock the items, and their markup (<15%) is less than any furniture store around. Costco also stands behind their products, and returns are local. Here are some Costco offerings: Nadia Heated Lift Chair = $1,100 Huxton Dual Motor Lift Chair = $1,200

I have a Barcalounger Lux, bought from Wayfare. It looks nearly identical to your pic. It has been good so far (about 3 years). I don't remember all the specs, should be easy to find.

Be sure to check the weight capacity on power recliners. Heavy duty systems capable of 350# or more will cost more.

I just emailed Town and Coutnry to see if they carry the flexsteel lift recliner. I also checked to see if they have protection plans. BoomzillaCostco actually has a nice recliner which is very similar to what I want too. However, I don't see anything about inhome protection plans. Since it is local, I may consider just purchasing from them as they have a return policy where you can return it to their store. If anybody knows of reliable 3rd party in home protection plans, please let me know. We have significant trouble moving anything heavy so if it breaks, we need somebody that will come to our house and figure it out.

I had flexsteel leather furniture for awhile, very comfortable, durable and well made.
But HEAVY, so take that into account in shipping and setup costs.

garbulky I was driving past a La-Z-Boy today so I stopped in to ask some questions. This chair is what I was shown. It's above the cost limit you want, but wanted to show you a model with more than you specified. La-Z-Boy is having a 25% off sale for another week I think. Plus you could get 0% financing if you wanted. It has a 500 pound weight limit. Part of the base stays at the floor instead of being exposed like most do. It will lay "flat", which like the others, is not really totally flat, but like the other photos above. They provide setup and have extended warranties which cost 12% of the purchase price (I think that's what she said). Anyway, just something else to compare with.

ttocs I went by the furniture store. They had a flexsteel lift reclinerin stock. It was the Shaw model. www.flexsteel.com/flexsteel-power-lift-recliner-with-power/1916-55ph-11/iteminformation.aspxI tried it out and honestly, I thought it was pretty nice. They had what seemed to be a good setup. Any warranty service, they will pick up the recliner, you pay about $50 for it and they'll deliver it back to you. They also have a three day trial period. I hope to get it in my house on Tuesday. Only problem is that it is pretty pricey, but I am willing to go with it if it's something that I can use for a long time.

I don’t have power lift on my 2 piece…..just power recline and power headrests. I am hopeful the power end of these units goes for the long haul. Such a step up from the ones with the mechanical handle that it’s a good gamble for sure. Bought mine from Ashley Furniture

Hey garbulky, were you able to get a recliner you like? I don't know if I got a chance to update. We now have two good power lift recliners. They are the Flexsteel Shaw model. Supportive but not perfect. I'm a bit on the short side and the neck rest is just a tad tall for me. They do feel sturdily built. I am overall very pleased with it. The dealer will service it, "often onsite" for five years, no shipping on my part. So that was a huge draw for me. Cost about 2k per item.
