Is the XMC-2 (& RMC) HDMI board the same as the one used in the XMC-1?

Is the XMC-2 (& RMC) HDMI board the same as the one used in the XMC-1? Yes... The same HDMI 2.0b board spans all 4 processors (first being the 2.0b " upgrade" for the XMC-1).

Any chance these boards will ever be available? Been waiting, nothing but crickets. Supply chain issue I must surmise. May have to bite the bullet and sell my XMC1 and buy an MC1, Whenever they become available again! Really want 4K play thru. oh well

Tic toc, tic toc, I'm still waiting. My 2.0 bd has totally fail since it was "repaired" last spring, totally unusable. The XMC-1 only plays analogue, coax, toslink and USB. Another recent failure is the inability to select anything other than stereo, surround, direct, auto or 5-ch.
Honestly, I'm looking at a Denon receiver, they just work. Why spend $3000- $6000 for another pre/pro that will be outdated in a couple years. I'm putting my money into 2ch. I've been an Emotiva fanboy, but I think they're in over their head with pre/pros, they don't have the engineering staff (size) to keep up..

Just curious to know what Emotiva said about the failure of your board? Is it because of the unavailability they cant replace it? You should be top of the list to get that taken care of

The XMC-1 was traded in. This is not the 4K board. This probably does not help you, but you can have it if you want. Not sure what you would need to do to get it to work in your unit....

There might be an issue in reverting back to the original XMC-1 board. If you'll recall, there was a specific firmware that needed to be applied before installing the V3 HDMI 4K board (if I'm remembering this correctly) so the new board would be recognized. So, I don't think there is such a thing as a "retro-firmware" which could be applied before removing the V3 board so the old board can then be recognized. Bricking might be very likely here. However, it's a very nice gesture to offer up your HDMI board!

Thank you cawgijoe, you made that very kind gesture a few months ago. I contemplated it a few days and realized the firmware would need to be back-dated and my concern was I could "brick" the unit if not done correctly. I may accept your offer. I'm partly to blame because I didn't immediately call support. They have always been helpful and Keith has gone above & beyond to help me. Keith could have been less truthful and not told me there were a few units that had a manufacturing/assembly problem, he took the time to show me what to look for with pictures. This XMC-1 was Dan (?) Hennings (bought the Monolith HTP-1) and I looked back in threads, he had issues since it was new and could have been repaired under warranty. I'll call Support and see if they can help.
EDIT- I don't need the HDMI 2.1 board. Recently bought a 4K Sony X900H, I'm satisfied and no plans for 8k anything. I sold the Anthem AVM-60 (everything worked) because we're not going to build a new house with an AV, Atmos purposed room (sold the lake property) and the XMC sounds better with Dirac. I and most folks feel Emotiva is "almost there" if they could get HDMI to work as other pre'pros & cheap receivers. Emotiva has taken a huge hit in the market place because of it. Now the competition has Dirac and that advantage is gone.

Did you get in touch with Support and what did they say?
