Two questions I'm considering, and I'm wondering if any of youse more experienced Loungers have any bright ideas: 1. I'm about to receive a big pair of tower speakers for review. The feet that attach to the speakers are made of aluminum. Since I'm probably going to be sliding these around a good bit, I don't want the feet scratching up my hard floor. Since there isn't much surface area directly in contact with the floor, my usual options (adhesive felt circles or adhesive teflon glides) will probably be too big. Any good ideas about how to prevent floor damage? The best idea I've come up with yet is to put a folded beach towel under each speaker & just slide the towel around. 2. I had my hard drive with my music library in a plastic cradle. The cradle had a lid, and the drive got firecracker hot with no way to breathe and the plastic didn't conduct heat. While at audio amigo's the other day I noticed that his drive was in an aluminum box and the box was elevated on "tip toe" points. This had the advantage of conducting heat away from the drive into the box, allowing air circulation all around the box, and allowing the aluminum tip-toes to further provide heat sinks. But those stupid cones are expensive! Any ideas for "work alike" options? Thanks - Boomzilla Attachments:

Thanks - Boomzilla I use an upside down square of carpet to move heavy speakers and amps on hard flooring and gliders on carpet. Some better speaker brands ship with gliders, which is thoughtful. Engineered shipping containers with instruction that minimize lifting are essential IMO.
