Hoping that maybe someone has an answer or suggestion for this problem. When I plug my iPhone directly into my Chevy Silverado and use Apple Carplay and use it to listen to Spotify after about 1 hr the sound starts to cutout. If I unplug the phone and then plug it back in it will be fine for about another hour. My connection to the truck is USB. Any thoughts?

I use CarPlay a lot, even took out a perfectly good Harmon/JBL system in my Subaru to have a Pioneer put in with CarPlay. I use wireless and generally don't have any issues with dropout, two questions come to mind: Are you using a genuine Apple Lightning Cable (and have you tried a different cable)? What about sources other than Spotify, it would be good to test another streaming option (maybe the free Pandora?), also good to just test playing stuff downloaded locally to your library. Something tangentially related, I get so many Apps running on my iPhone and iPad that I do a 'reboot Sunday', where I manually shutdown every app, then shutdown the iPhone/iPad and then start back fresh. It's related to 'have you rebooted?', but more of a preemptive strike, just a thought.

But I bought a wireless thing after reading a few reviews. It connected up perfectly and first time I used it on a 20min drive to a restaurant it was perfect. Cool! Then ... every time I used it after, especially on a longer drive, it would totally drop the connection every 20-30min. And it would randomly lag quite a bit sometimes. My main apps are Waze and Apple Music. Has anyone had a really good experience with a wireless adapter?

The only thing I have downloaded to my phone is some stuff from Spotify. I've had this problem with playlists that downloaded as well as the ones that just stream. In the Chevy the I can't do CarPlay wirelessly but if I connect via bluetooth I don't have this issue. It wouldn't surprise me if this is a Chevy/GMC issue. I've had multiple issues with Chevy electronics in the last 2 pickups that I have had from them.

When I bought my latest car I deliberately bought it without navigation because it had CarPlay. I can plug my phone into the car (or connect it via Bluetooth, for that matter), and use my phone's maps with the car's display showing the map info and with instructions spoken through the car speakers.
When I used to have to go places out West that had no cell phone coverage, I'd bring a GPS with me (or rent one with the rental car), but any more, just about everywhere has cellular.
I see that the newest iPhones can monitor your temperature & let you know when to back off exercising. They can also (I've been told) be set up to track women's ovulation cycles based on body temperature (transmitted from your iWatch). I use my phone on a daily basis to monitor my blood glucose & blood pressure. The results are automatically sent to my doctor whose assistant will call me with suggestions if there's any significant change in either. I think we're not far from having the insurance companies give you a free phone if you'll let them monitor your health. If you maintain good exercise habits, etc. you'll get a discount on your health insurance.
I also have an accelerometer device from my auto insurance in my car that communicates with my cell phone. If I drive safely, I get up to a 40% discount on my auto insurance.
Many don't want this level of intrusiveness in their lives. I can understand that, but my thought is that if I'm driving safely anyway, for example, why not take the discount?
