First off I would like to Thank you for adding me to this site.
My current set-up is as follows and this is a low budget system but sounds great to me. With that being said I'm curious if I should jump up to the XPA 5 or just leave things the way they are?
ONKYO RZ-730 USED AS A PRE-AMP EMOTIVA A-5175 KLIPSCH R-820F KLIPSCH R-120SW KLIPSCH R-34C KLIPSCH R-51M
My listening area is only a 12x12 area, I'm wondering if moving to a more powerful amplifer is going to make that much difference? I'm going to be adding Atmos speakers in the near future so I was also thing about just getting the A3 for the front stage and using the A-5175 for the surround and Atmos. Also just thinking about leaving everything the same and running the Atmos off the receiver. Sorry for the long post but I'm just looking for opinions. Have a great weekend everyone!

First off, your amp is plenty for your efficient speakers.
Is your 12x12 "area" in a room that is larger? If so, what is the size of the room approximately? If it's a 12x12 room, then you're not going to need more power IMO.
I'm using a much less powerful amp for my Surrounds and ATMOS speakers and I'm very happy with it. So, using a receiver will work just fine. When I first went from 5.1 to 7.1 I used an old Onkyo 50 Watt receiver for the rear speakers for over a year and it worked great. I bought it at a garage sale for $20.

There is a small dining area off of the listening area which might be 6x6, this is a small 2 bedroom duplex.

Amplification shouldn't be on your radar right now. I think your plan for atmos and A3 for front stage makes more sense if 2 channel listening is important to you. If not, just run the atmos off the receiver.
