Hi Folks,
Looking for guidance on my setup, and hopefully tips on removing the noise I get.
Setup: Fluance RT-85 with Ortofon 2M Blue -> Emotiva XPS-1 Gen 2 -> Edifier R1700BTs (Powered)
Ortofon 2M Blue is a MM cartridge.
Currently when I set this all up, I get no sound coming from my speakers. If I flip the switch on the XPS-1 from MM to MC I get sound coming from my speakers. Albeit sound mixed with noise. If I add any impedance on the XPS the sound becomes muffled.
This doesn’t make sense since I am using an MM cartridge, and don’t need to modify inputs on the XPS-1.
I have tried this setup with an older desktop speakers where I have RCA to Aux and this works, by works I mean I get less noise but not the clarity I would expect.
Any suggestions/tips?

Are the inputs and outputs connected correctly? I was just going to ask the same thing I have the same cartridge in my turntable connected to a XSP-1 and it sounds great.
