I think DiCaprio is a dink as far as his views but he is a good actor. Tom Hardy is quickly becoming a favorite as well.
I just watched The Revenant last night and I thought it was a very good movie.

I finally got around to watching The Wolf of Wall Street. It is categorized as black comedy. I didn't see anything comical about it. IMO it was more of a lampoon of Wall Street. No telling what a Wall Street lampoon of Hollywood would be like. IMDB has it rated at 8.2. I must have missed something. It was more like an update on the Animal House characters - 20 years later.

I have watched a few new ones recently. Manchester By The Sea - depressing, I'd rather shoot myself than watch it again. Hacksaw Ridge - fantastic, a new war standard, they even told it truthfully, what a novel concept for Hollywood. Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk - an interesting view of those who serve in combat today, their psychological tyrists and the shallow lip service praise by others for their service but otherwise uncaring - good young actor! Allied - a copycat of Cassablanca, but the story is finished out with a final suicide -wifey will love it until the ending. Arrival - a science fiction movie which fanticises that aliens communicate in 3 dimensional ink spasms, making the most unintelligible movie ever created. USS Indianapolis - a depressing scapegoat picture that makes the enemy look more moral than us. Lots of shark feasting on our young men and bureacratic feasting on the infamous cruiser's captain. Looking forward to La La Land which should be Hollywood's new name!

I hope so, as I am a huge fan of the franchise. The first Alien movie was awesome. Had nightmares for a while. The mark of a great movie is that is lives in you for a while. A bad movie is like bad food. You just can't wait to get rid of it, if you know what I mean.

Ridley Scott is directing it so it should be another good one. I am looking forward to it. I really like Prometheus and Alien and Aliens.

I have watched a few new ones recently. ... Arrival - a science fiction movie which fanticises that aliens communicate in 3 dimensional ink spasms, making the most unintelligible movie ever created. ... I liked Arrival a lot. But I like abstract Science Fiction which proposes one idea and then investigates the repercussions. Also, the original music score by Jóhann Jóhannsson is really interesting. Casey

Casey Yes, Arrival was absolutely brilliant. People who think it's about the aliens are completely missing the point. They are just a plot device.
