Just took in an afternoon matinée! Rare but very much needed. I enjoyed getting away with this one.

Again - this puppy left me with cringes for all of its science mistakes. But what the heck - if one can stomach the lack of science in Star Wars, what's this one by comparison?

Was going to peep that one on the plane coming home earlier this week but watched Arrival instead. Was it any good for a sci-fi offering or should I take a pass? Scott

Scott I found it quite entertaining, along with my guests, if you keep the scrutinizing to a minimum. The audio and HDR capability of my panel were quite good, and made this movie worth watching. This is the best I've seen Jennifer Lawrence look in any of her movies.

I saw the comments on Passengers and decided to rent the Blu-Ray from Redbox. Reserve it at a nearby grocery store and head over.
Not good. Redbox machine is out of order. Redbox sucks. Literally every time I use them there is an issue of one sort or another.
No more Redbox for me. I needed that movie today, too. Dropped my daughter off at the airport this morning so my wife is unhappy and no BBQ today until 4:00. Figured I'd hide out in my office watching the movie until the storm blows over. No such luck.

The movie is fine for a "relationships" type of movie. If you're willing to suspend belief, it's ok as Sci-Fi. But you'll need to be either stupid or "just don't care" to overlook the plot of this one.
Yes - the visuals WERE spectacular. I watched it in 4K HDR, and everything was amazing.

Can you stream it with Vudu? I decided to fire up Interstellar instead. Saw it in the theater but haven't watched the BluRay I have until today. When we stream its primarily Netflix, Amazon and Hulu. Haven't done Vudu yet. Guess its time to take a look. Edit - just saw Amazon offers it streaming so I'll get it there next time.

I'll check it out when I get a chance. We'll poke some fun at the excess "fi" in the genre but we can still shut off the analytical portion of the noggen and just enjoy a good flick too. Scott

Another improbable plot, but what can I say? Green or brown - I do admire Ms. Zoe Saldana...
