Was Last Jedi worth watching in 3D ? I like 3D but haven’t been to a theatre in years. May catch a matinée today.

Went to see "Dunkirk" with my son yesterday night. My wife was out of town, so it was a good opportunity for manly bonding 😁. Intriguing movie, although one of the strangest, if not THE strangest, war movie I have ever seen. Christopher Nolan sure has a way to leave his mark on the movies he directs. Same with Hans Zimmer and it's music. It reminded me of what John Williams did with "Jaws" and the famous 2-note theme. Just multiplied by 10... +1. Watched the Blu-ray of this over the weekend. I can't say I loved the movie, but it was tense. Too chopped up and hard to follow for no reason if you ask me. But wow, if you own a good home theater sound system, this movie gives it one hell of a workout. At one point I literally got the wind knocked out of me. My solid concrete slab floor felt like it was quaking at 9 point 8. I would actually go so far to say that the sound track is 75% of this movie. Don't even bother if your system isn't competent. And about the music, I told my wife I'm glad I didn't have to play the violin on this (I don't play violin. just saying). When the orchestra members got done recording this soundtrack I'll bet their arm muscles were twice as large and tone as before they started. In-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out-in-out.......

Atomic Blonde staring Charlize Theron. Wow, she's just an amazing woman. I wouldn't call it the best movie but it's entertaining. Kind of like a Mission Impossible Tom Cruise movie with real stunts, except with the crazy hot Charlize doing it all. Um....and quite erotic in places. s1.zetaboards.com/L_Anon/single/?p=42081436&t=8077585

3D Prometheus. The latest “homemade” trilogy I like going thru is the bluray, 2003 directors cut of the original Alien, followed by Prometheus and then Covenant, which I’ve seen only once and just ready to go there now.

Black Panther- it was just OK. It didn’t live up to the huge hypfest on TV. War rhinos? Really? Even the post credit “secret” clip was not worth waiting for.
Maybe I’m just getting old(er).

Thanks Jim for putting this movie, which I'm going to see tomorrow morning, into perspective. Now my expectations have been greatly lowered and can now sit back and enjoy it without picking it apart myself!!! It's one of those movies that is a must watch for me since its a part of the Marvel Universe and up to now I've seen them all, except "Thor: Ragnarok", which I'll pick up the UHD blu-ray when it releases on March 6.

I liked the Black Panther. It was well-made movie and entertaining. It's a fantasy movie, so don't rhinos spoil it for ya.

Took home the grand prizes for sound stuff.

Three Billboards - High rating for character development (Frances McDormand won Oscar for best actress). All the characters were certainly characters alright. HOWEVER - Middle America and especially the South does not use the f word in every sentence. Hollywood really needs to, well, get out of Hollywood. Also the story seems to embellish wrong doing (called being renegade on the cover) as an option to right things. This also seems to be a leftist hollywood mode of thought. Good movie - bad message!
