When I received my ultra series RCA and tried to installed them, they didn't fit. Has anyone else experienced this? I tried to connect ERC-1 to USP-1. They would not fit into the jacks. I had to use a multi-tool and expand the fittings to put them on. And it was still somewhat of a pain to get them on. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you remedy it?

Usually after a few drinks, candle lighting and some soft music, I can get it in. When that fails, I just resort to brute force and ram it in.

My Ultra interconnects were actually a little loose, so I had to tighten them with some pliers. My X-series all fit perfect. Also, call me crazy, but the X-series sounds better in my system, smoother, less harsh and not as bright as the Ultras. I switched to the X-series for everything except I have one Ultra cable going to my sub. I am also using the Ultra series speaker cable (bare wire) and love it. I may try the X-series speaker cable someday but hard to justify the money as everything sounds so good right now. Can't beat the $20 I spent on the Ultra speaker cable. No doubt the best "bang for the buck" improvement in my system so far.

Just had the same experience. I read the UMC manual and it mentioned some cables are tight but wow, it turned into quite a bit of work to get them on(pliers, wd40, twisting, turning...). I even pulled one of the connection caps off a coax output I was using to test it. Fortunately I don't need it. Now they are on I hope they will work fine since I don't want to have to take them off

well this isn't what I wanted to hear... I just ordered a set of Ultra interconnects hoping that they would fit nice and snug but not tight. Looks like that's not the case. Why don't any other company use something like this? If you havent used these type before they slide on with almost no force, but grab enough to stay in place.

my ultra's were loose to the point of almost falling out, but I just remember to check them if I have been messing with anything.

Although the Ultra's interconnects leave a lot to be desired(giving mine to my uncle), the Emotiva X-series interconnects are excellent. All of my X-series have fit perfect and sounded great. Just fyi for those wanting to upgrade which I strongly suggest, it would be sad to dish out a good bit of money for a nice amp, pre-amp, etc... and then end up with less SQ than you paid for by going cheap on interconnects. Also, the Ultra Speaker cables are excellent, no issues with them quality wise and they sound awesome.

Well, I don't know if I just got lucky, or if Emotiva made some adjustments to the manufacturing of these cables, but I just got 5 Ultra RCA's and the 2 I tried so far fit perfectly. They slide on easy and have good hold, a little more than what I would want ideally, but nowhere near as bad as some (like monster). Not as perfect as the ones I posted above, but for $25 for all 5 I can't complain. ;D

I bought a bunch of them too and they were all to tight and would not fit. They had to send me new cables last week and I had to send them all back. The crimp is too tight......

My fix was to buy BlueJeans interconnects. Much better IMO.

Really nice connectors. They have this nice tactile "click" when you insert them.

But all 5 Ultra RCA's were less than a pair of BJC LC-1's, so price won out over quality for me this time. When I can afford it I'm going LC-1 all around. I am happy with the Ultras though, I was a little scared after reading this thread, but like I said all of mine ( or at least the ones I tried) fit perfectly.

I just bought and installed a set of 7 Ultra's and all but one fit perfectly. The one that didn't fit perfectly was actually a little loose rather than too tight though. Overall, I'm happy with these cables other that the fact that I probably could have gone with 1 meter length instead of 2 meter.

I've got the opposite issue, I went for the .5 meter length, Its going to be REAL close, but they should reach.
