I am helping my father in law set up his theater. the room was prewired for 5.2 however we want the option to run 7.2 so I was going to use some flat wire and run under the new carpet. I am looking a reasonable price and so far I have found this. www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=100-040The runs will be about 10-15 feet and I am worried that 16 awg cable might not be sufficient. The amp will be an xpa5 or upa7 and the speakers will be rocket rs450's Any ideas or suggestions?

Chet, I think 16 gauge is plenty for your father-in-law's application. I have flat 16 gauge speaker wire at about those lengths for all 5 speakers and no problem in my opinion with my 4 ohm Emo's and XPA-5.
