I will admit I have not heard any Emo speakers.
But I find it hard to believe that you will find a significant upgrade in replacing your Paradigm Monitors with the Emo's. To be honest, I think you would have a greater impact upgrading your electronics, or going with the s100's.
Is your $4k budget for speakers only? Or including electronics? Are you keeping your sub?

I am keeping my sub...and just up grading speakers...i havent hooked up the xpa 3 to the paradigms maybe do them a world of good and no need to upgrade....at least I hope anyway...currently running them with yamaha just doesn't cut it anymore..so i will go with more power then new speakers if I dont hear any improvement after hooking up xpa 3 I will find out tomorrow as it is.. to be delivered tomorrow...I honestly don't know what speakers are out there.I am open to suggestions as what speakers I could get...my budget of 4000 tops is just for speakers fronts centre and surrounds....all the local store around here deals with is paradigm...and they overcharge...but I could drive 6 hours away where there are lots more...just need suggestions...thanks

I have not listened to paradigm speakers in years. I did not care for how they sounded. I purchased the Emo towers just before Christmas and love them.

In fact too many hehe. There are several internet based companies that offer excellent products for that price range, you will just need to find a local owner and see if they will let you visit for an audition. First, I would plug in your amp and see if you think you need to upgrade. Second, there are a number of questions to answer before shopping for new speakers. Size of room? Do you want towers or bookshelf size? Does the finish matter (WAF)? Are you keeping the same electronics you have now, or do you plan to replace?

You could also go to your local audio retailers, listen to several different brands, and purchase whatever sounds the best to you in your price range.

I would take a look at the klipsch kl-650-thx or the kl-525-thx. I had a chance to try them out and they are truly amazing...the kl 525's are an excelllent choice for the fronts, a slight step down, and can be had for under 1k each...and you should be able to find a pair of ks 525's (surrounds) for under 1k as well...putting you right at 4k.

I'd just go to the yellow pages, find some stores, and listen to whatever brands they carry. If you want some names, how about B&W, Definitive Technology, PSB, Thiel, Snell, Epos, Focal, etc etc etc

any one have salk song towers and how they perform I used to own B&W 800 series (newest generation) and I thought they were exceptionally good. A friend of mine had Salk SongTowers with a ribbon tweeter (actually he has the very first pair). He told me to bring my speakers to his place and we'd compare them. Dennis Murphy (Salk crossover designer) wanted to know the outcome, because he expected the B&W's to compare very well. I could go into great detail, but I will spare this forum the long post. All I can say is that I left my friends house nearly hating my B&W's. It took me about a month to get sound of the SongTowers out of my head. I just couldn't live with my B&W's any longer, so I sold them and purchased Salk HT2-TL's. I have never once regretted my decision and I have a very hard time finding fault with them. They are hands down the best audio purchase I have ever made. I have never heard a pair of SongTowers without a ribbon tweeter, so I can't comment on the normal version. The SongTowers will be a bit weak on the bottom end in a larger room. Other than that, the only speakers that even remotely come close for me is the latest Paradigm Signatures. But I'd never take the Sigs over the Salk's. PM me if you'd like to know more.
