Hey all, I finally called Emotiva and ordered up a USP-1!!! I am really excited to get it in, I had to wait and time the order with my days off. I spoke with Vince there. Really cool guy and totally positive on the phone. As I have stated elsewhere on this forum, my UPA-1s FAR exceeded any hopes I had for them so...here we go again. I am sure Emotiva won't let me down. I will do a mini review of it once I get it home and have an opportinity to play with it a bit. Thanks for reading. -Dave

Hi There and no worries. When I was doing my research on how I would hook up the USP-1 inline to my AVR I had a difficult time with the manual so I created a visio diagram and simulated the connection. I then asked the forum to validate it with me. Once I got that done then I added some additional posts with the settings I used for low pass and High pass as I bought that bad boy and love it. here is the link if it is helpful to you. emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=prepro&action=display&thread=6678In answer to your question though a configuration diagram is a visual reference for how you can or should cable the unit to your other gear. This configuration applies to my setup and yours may vary somewhat!

Dave, You are gonna love the USP-1!!! Did you also order an ERC-1 to compliment it??? Sticknstones setup configuration is extremely helpful, especially if you going to incorporate it with a home theater processor. Lots of work went into that along with a few corrections over the long haul. As helpful as it has been to many, I set mine up as a dedicated two channel system, and it gets more use than my dedicated home theater.

Thanks for the info sticknstones. And thanks for the positive words all. I haven't been this stoked about gear since I ordered my UPA1s. ;D My plan at the moment is to build a 2 channel system and a seperate HT system later on. I am kind of waiting for the HDMI issues to get worked out, especially since 3D and HDMI 1.4 is on the way. By the time I actually get my 2 ch. music only system done, everything "should" be calmed down and a standard reached...we'll see...

I don't own an USP-1 but heard one from the guy (and forum member) I bought my XPA-2 off of. It sounded too sweet! I am totally jealous. I will spring for one of these bad boys when I get a solid DAC.
Enjoy the analog bliss!

I would like to get an ERC-1 as well. I am under the impression that the DAC in that player is VERY good. Seems like it would be a "dream system" IMO. The ERC-1 will be next up on my list of Emotiva gear to get...I REALLY need to stop buying amps and preamps and REALLY start saving for a set of B&Ws. My plan is to get an Emotiva ERC-1 cd player, a Sony XDRF1HD tuner, keep using my current Onkyo TA-R440 casette deck, and add either a Pro-ject Debut III or Rega P1 turntable to replace my cheap Sony one that I use currently. All of those components would run into the USP-1 to a pair of UPA-1s and (hopefully) a set of Bowers & Wilkins CM-7s or (even better) CM-9s. ahhhh.....dreams.....anyway, that is what I am planning on building at the time of this writing. ;D At least I now have the amps, and the pre-amp ships tomorrow (monday) and I already own the Onkyo tape deck so....slowly but surely, I will get there.
