I know there are many opinions that bi-apming is a waste of money. I have Monitor Audio Gr60's for my fronts and they do benefit from bi-amping, not day and night but definitely an improvement, especially for critical listening. So I'm a believer based on my MA's. I have ERD-1s for surrounds in a 7.1 set up and have decided to match out with 8.3s and a 6.3 center. My thoughts are to bi-amp 8.3s with UPA-1s ( two per speaker), or bi-amp with XPA-2s, or mono with XPA-1s. I'm partial to bi-amp just don't know if the 8.3s will open up with bi-amping like my GR60s did.
I'm requesting anyone's opinion to the above power options.
70% 2ch listening Room is approx 20'w x 26'L with open kitchen adding 15' to length. Ceiling is 12' and 10' for kitchen. Music is classic rock, country, jazz, and classical.
I appreciate your commits,

XPA-1 is a no brainer for the best option. If you plan to bi-amp with an XPA-2, you are better off sticking with the XPA-1's.
Are you replacing the MA's with 8.3's?

Thank for your reply. I hate to pull out my Monitors, but I want to try a full emo spk system (have 4 ERD-1 now). The 8.3's and 6.3 are now at my office for break in. I plan to set them up at the house in a week or so. The problem is I'm enjoying them too much at the office.
Thanks
