Huh?? What do you see that indicates an XMC clone?? ?? Take away the balanced outputs of the Sherbourne unit and look again...

Emo won't comment on another company's product, but if the XMC turns out to be like this, I'm done.

Well, since the XMC is basically a gussied up UMC with balanced outputs...along with some of the specs at the Sherbourne website that don't sync with the current UMC...maybe its just wishful thinking...

With the Sherbourn PT-7020A having an MSRP of $2750, I will gladly wait for the XMC to arrive.

If you go back and look at the back of the XMC renderings (both of them) that we were provided in the XMC-Redux thread there are pretty significant differences between the Sherbourne and the XMC-1... the Sherbourne is just a UMC-1 with balanced outputs (as has been mentioned) whereas the XMC-1 has less legacy video, more HDMI inputs, dual outputs, and some other fine features worthy of its X status over the UMC

yep,
biggest pull on the XMC (iirc) was the extra HDMI inputs, extra HDMI output, dual zone video, pandora internet radio, and most significantly, the upgraded analog audio circuits and AD dacs.
