I am new to this site and am building a HT and considering the Emotiva products because of the rave reviews but I have a dilemma and have to mount the LCR in ceiling. I know it is not ideal but has any one had experience with Def tech UIW RCS II speakers. Thanks for any feedback.

Emotiva has in-wall, in-ceiling speakers in the works. Big Dan talked about them in the last webcast.

I own a lot of DefTechs, and love their sound, so I can't imagine you would go wrong with those speakers. Especially if you have to install in the ceiling - - that's what those seem to be designed for. Any chance you can add stadium seating to your theater? Maybe lifting people up a bit might help the front staging. I would also recommend speaking with a custom installer even if it costs you $60-100 bucks for an hour consultation - if anything they might be able to give you insight that you haven't thought about. I would also highly advise room correction for your set up, either the Emo-Q, Audyssey, Trinnov, or any EQ to help blend that front soundstage to your listening area. Good luck, and happy listening!

I'm a big fan of Revel Loudspeaker since I own a pair of they're F32 towers and can speak somewhat inteligently since I've owned a full set up of Def Techs. Revel has a full line of in-wall speakers you can check out. Alot of people haven't heard of them but they are a high end branch of Harman International and they make all they're own components in house. They have a very detailed yet natural sound. www.revelspeakers.com/products/series.asp?series=in-wall

This thread shouldn't be in the "Reviews" section.

Thank You so much for your reviews and suggestions. I currently have Def tech 5.1 600 set up in my vacation condo and love them. I was hoping some one might have experienced their in ceiling speakers and pass on their review. The Big Box retailers do not have them on display. They are special order and am reluctant to order with out listening or a good recommendation. Blake

For what it is worth, I had the DT ProCinema speakers b4, was considering upgrading to their Mythos or BP systems, auditioned them. Also Paradigm. Then I came across Emotiva, ordered them and have never looked back. I have the Rhytmik sub and I am really happy with the sound now.
