I know there is no Emo-Q in the USP-1...
...but think about it. Many (most) 2.1 zones have more hard surfaces and areas needing room correction than HT areas (at least in my house).
I know I would pay a premium over the USP-1 for a USP-2 with Emo-Q.
Thoughts?

The USP-1 is all-analog, whereas Emo-Q is all about digital signal processing. In order to introduce it, the USP-1 would basically have to become a pre/pro. The XMC-1 will in some sense solve your needs, as it (is said to) contain a wastly improved analog output stage.
That said, I'm a big fan of of the 2.1 (or 3.1) pre/pro concept, where the energy is spent on DAC and pre-amps for fewer channels. Don't seem likely to be picked up by emotiva though.

It would be an interesting concept but Emo-Q would take the USP-1 out of the analog domain by introducing digital room correction. Bill

d'oh! analog vs digital domains...
So I guess the place to put Emo-Q would be in the next version of the DAC, hmmmmm

I would most definitely try it in my system . Here is a 2.2 preamp from Tact that is just a bit more in cost than the USP-1 at $5k . www.tactlab.com/Products/RCS22XP/index.htmlBill

If you want 2.1 with room correction, and even a built in DAC, you can get a UMC-1. There's no reason you can't use the UMC-1 for a 2 or 2.1 channel setup.
I would hate to see stuff like this in a preamp like the USP-1. The whole purpose of preamps is to preserve the analog signal as much as possible, and room correction goes against that.

That is a serious looking integrated amp . Looking at the internal shots it looks very well made. I poked around for some reviews but did not see any. I assume it is for sale in the US, is the one you are looking at a new unit? Bill

I have actually pondered using two preamps (tube preamp, UMC) for 2.1. That way I could have one output from my ERC go the tube preamp for the mains and the other output going to the UMC to utilize EmoQ for my sub. Not sure if it would work though.

The only reviews I've seen have been in Europe, as well as the only retail ads. The one I can find is new but not standard retail. But too many other things to buy first, so it'll have to wait

Not sure if it would work though. sanjay, I had a Rogue Audio Perseus 2 CH tube preamp with HT Bypass and I found it had excellent SQ. I also had a TAD TADAC that is a pre/DAC with HT Bypass which sounded quite good as well. I went with the Parasound 2100 so I could use my sub as I have Ascend Sierra-1s which really need a sub for 2 CH IMO. So if you are looking to try a tube preamp in your HT system I think the Perseus is a great choice. Rogue has excellent customer service as well. I got mine off of Audiogon and I still see them pop on occasion. Bill
