Don't forget that if you don't break those cables in for at least 227 hours that you won't hear the full potential.

The crazy part is........the people that buy these items never complain about them. But if the same cable was 19.95 there would be numerous complaints,go figure.

The reason they don't complain when they pay $26K is because they will look like even more of a sucker when the thing doesn't work right. ;D

Cables at those prices make those silly mobile phones with jewels on them look like "value".

You know, when I was watching the Oscars recently, I am pretty sure I saw some of the actresses on the red carpet with those cables around their neck. Some had the 2 meter ones and just wrapped them around a few times. Others were more discreet and had the .5 meter ones.

As others have indicated... the power is brought to your house over countless miles of contractor-grade cables, and huge regional transformers with minimal EM shielding.
So, you plug a $26k cable into the end of miles of the cheapest-possible wire and it magically re-arranges the world?
Isn't that like a single 24k gold link on the Titanic's anchor saving the ship?

I read that a pair of these were used out of phase in a hospital operating room and 3 patients died. Tragic. This proves that medical cables are higher end.

I thought it said that three people who died in operating rooms were miraculously brought back to life by the mere presence these cables.

Sounds about the right price for an uber-system. If a guy has a 300K system, and there are many people out there that do, 26K falls in nicely with the 10% rule for cabling.
What is expensive for some is pocket change to others. I wouldn't call them foolish or any other disparaging name or make fun of the fact they chose to spend that type of money on cabling. I have about 7K in cabling in my 2 channel rig. And yes, I've tried all the usual suspects! BlueJeans, Signal, AQ, PAD, Mapleshades, WireWorld and many others.
If your gear can take advantage of and reveal the capabilities of the wire then it is a good investment. If not, then it is a waste of money for most.

With a 300K system you have to have a $26K power cable or there will be handshake issues......

BlueJeans, Signal, AQ, PAD, Mapleshades, WireWorld and many others Hey, Gordon -- This is not a chip-on-the-shoulder question: Were there obvious differences between brands?

BlueJeans, Signal, AQ, PAD, Mapleshades, WireWorld and many others Hey, Gordon -- This is not a chip-on-the-shoulder question: Were there obvious differences between brands? 2cman, I hope not! ;D I've tried all the above in my rig and all of them had good and bad traits. To say that one was better or worse than the other would be wrong in my opinion. It boils down to what sounded best to me irregardless of price. I really wanted the PAD to sound good and I had high expectations. They were a let down and not worth the money to me. The Signal Silvers were a very clean but bright wire to me but the copper was very smooth and accurate. The Mapleshades was one of the best wires for top to bottom presentation but the mids were a bit recessed for my taste. I'm running a majority of WireWorld cabling now but, four of my XLR's are Mogami Gold bought at the guitar center for about $25 a pair. They are a very simple ugly cable that brings my system to life. I have no tone controls in my 2 channel rig and have always believed that a wire can be a broad substitute for pots. I tried some of the high dollar cables in the basement HT and there was no benefit noted. The AQ's work perfectly well for the level of equipment I have there. It would be foolish on my part to put a $800 set of RCA's on a $300 AVR. My 2 channel rig is of a caliber that can take advantage of a high priced cable. Some of the high priced cables I have I probably could have lived without. The improvement was very slight and I had to nitpick to find that. Nevertheless, it was there so they remained much to the better half's regret! I have high hopes that this can remain civil ;D since I happen to be a cable believer, I can respect those who do not.
